Can someone put up a picture of the top brake warning light globe holder on late LJ dash.

I presume it looks something like this? This has a earth contact so I presume it's not correct because it fits into plastic.

Marty

Basically the same as this one but has a wire connector the same as used for the blue wire instead of the earth tab .

Drill a small hole in the plastic and solder a wire to the earth tab if you cant find the right one.

Thanks guys. Still wanting a picture of original holder and wiring in position. If I need to make this I may as well make it look correct.
Cheers

Marty, see the 2nd pic in post #8. For the brake warning light there would be one pink wire (+12v) instead of the green wire and two tan wires (h/brake & brake fail switch) instead of the two black wires shown on the bulb holder the pic.

Help! Can I get confirmation on which light is where on a 73.
Top brake light, is it handbrake or low fluid warning.
Cheers

Marty it's both handbrake warning light and brake fail light in one. Same as the brake light in the lower position on the 72's just moved up to the higher more visible position for 1973. The redundant lower warning light aperture on the 73 fascia is blanked off with a piece of black vinyl coated metal.

Far out, you're right Dave. Just checked, the bottom one is blank.
Still learning.
Thanks Dave

This is kind of random, but I owe Marty a schooner as a result of this thread.

I just strolled out to the shed to see if I had one of these funny looking globe holders in a harness that I recently pulled out of a HG sedan.

I didn't....

But when I walked into the shed there was a strong stench of petrol.

The Truckster had sprung a leak next to a hose clamp and had a nice pool of 97 underneath it.

All fixed now.

This joint is useful in all kinds of ways. Beer for you next time I see you, mate.
