Hi Guys, I may have to take a step backwards in my build. Annoying if that is the case.
Tried fitting my new reverse switch to gearbox while under car.
Dropped rear of box off crossmember for more room. Fitted switch but it hits the reverse rod selector so I reckon the lever bar is bent.

Here are my spare parts to help understand what I'm dribbling about.

To take that off I took the nut off part d. That causes part d which is connected to part c to drop down. At first I could lift it back up to refit nut but now I can't. :-(
Got pissed off and haven't worked on car for two days now.
Has part b dropped and jammed? Is there something I can try before I have to pull the extension housing off?
I have put the part e in vice and straighted it to hopefully stop it catching on switch.
Does anyone have a magic wand?

Cheers
Marty

Maybe part "Z" (not pictured) has dropped out of the watzitsname inside the extension housing?

Try and lift "D" and rotate it slightly left and right and see if you can lift it higher to re-engage Z?

Is Z the bit that fits in C that engages reverse gear?

Yep. It pivots. If you drop the D-C assembly too low, Z will fall out of the groove in "X" (not pictured)....................and the shit can hit the fan.

Thanks Rodomo, I'll do some more fiddling on weekend but realistically I think the shit has hit.

Rob is on the money. Also, as the internal lever has dropped, the detent ball may have dislodged and fallen inside the extension housing.

Time to pull the box back out and make sure it's all fixed properly.
