Hi GTR 69 why not if that is what you were after? second pic is a LJ GTR. Bulit I have a few more observation. Under the ash tray should not be silver and it should have a choke but as it has a quaddy fitted it is correct. Rear armrests ash trays? and when did SS hatches get halogen head lights I have heard that they all had them but I own a Feb 76 built one and it dose not have halogen head lights but has rear ash trays in the arm rests. cheers Aaron.
Thought the commodore 4.2 blues were the first little V8 to get the quaddy?
Bloody nice car but!

I think that started when ADR27A was forced upon us around July '76?

Correct VC/WB. Prior to that 253/4.2 only ever got WW Stromberg, Carter or Rochester 2-jet on production vehicles.

Hi Aaron, what do you mean by "Under the Ashtray should NOT be Silver"?
With regard to the Choke, they were standard for 6's. V8's had automatic choke.
Ashtrays in the armrests was early Hatch. At some stage they moved the ashtray from the armrests to the rear of the centre console.
H4 Halogen headlights were standard for SL and SS hatchbacks.
ADR27A had nothing to do with the quaddy as it wasn't standard on the 4.2lt motor till 1979 - 1980'ish.

Hi, yes that is correct no 253 Torana got a quaddy, but this one is fitted wIth one. The new owner knows about the carbie but I am just pointing out as a L32 it should have a choke knob on the dash, cheers Aaron.

Hey Aaron,
if you look at other pics of this car elsewhere, the recess area under the ashtray is black. Just a couple of pics make it look silver for some reason.
Strange about your headlights being non H4's as it was something that holden promoted pretty heavily. I wonder if there are any other early ones that are the same?
cheers
Mick

Don't forget the Email 2 barrel.

It is probably the Email one I was thinking about when I typed Carter.
They are actually an E-Mail Carter. They are a Carter design BBD carby, built in Australia under license by E-Mail.
Similar to the Bendix Stromberg single barrel. The original design was Stromberg USA (this is how the original FX/FJ/FE carbies are branded), but from mid-FE onwards they were made in Australia, under license by Bendix Technico.

I don't think that anyone is losing sleep, but the OP asked:- "ok guys looking at this car Monday how do the numbers check out and anything you guys can pick in the pics"

Guys why didn't we buy it, well we ran a wanted advert and had plenty to choose from, this was a contender for a second Hatch for me but mainly wanted a hatch for the wife
What we picked as a purchase was a more unique
Tuxedo Black
5lt
Air
Auto
60000k's
Directors Personal Car
Full Log Books and History
But the Papaya was a big contender did the Black Baby came out, good luck the new owner , enjoy the many miles of happiness and pleasure of owing a very tidy hatch

You'll be lucky to get to Ipswich with your wallet intact if you're catching the train.
I know Glen the owner & have seen the car many times on club runs, car shows etc.
I reckon the car is awesome for it's age & I wouldn't hesitate owning it, but my budget just won't stretch that far I'm afraid.
