LJ 2 Door colour choice

Find a 2 door that still looks like a s model and that's when you'll have something unique and of interest.
I had plenty of comments at Toranafest about my car for this reason.
Since you're not keeping it original you should paint it what ever colour you like the most. But don't pick a colour because of the colour itself, pick it for how that colour looks on a completed LJ, if that makes sense.
And go with the flax if you would be able to keep it clean enough, black has been over done.

The only pics I could find of any purple car with Flax trim
That looks like 28Y, Flax/Black with B/W Houndstooth inserts. Nice on a purple car or other darker colour. What is the LJ GTR equivalent? It is 48W in LC I think (but called Sandlewood not Flax). 48Y?

I assume X is the Flax/Black and Y is Flax/Black with B/W Houndstooth? Makes sense as they are the next two available letters after LC's 48V and 48W.

Does that mean my trim code 1839 48E refers to Flax trim on the "S" model?
I've tried looking up Holden trim codes and can't find 48E.
I have assumed that my LJ is Flax from reading an older post on the forum where someone had the same code.

Paint combination 1839 = Royal Purple.
LJ trim code #48 = Flax
Luxury level code E = Torana S (vinyl)

Thanks S pack, (vinyl) that's handy to know.
I've been reading about long grain and roebuck. Is vinyl a different grain or would it be one of the grains I mentioned?
Thanks again.

So is Sandlewood and Flax the same? Flax in the HQ pic above doesn't seem to have the brown flecks in it. Or is that just the photo?

They aren't called Sandlewood or Flax. They are Sandlewood AND Black or Sandlewood/Black and Flax/Black. I know it sounds like being pedantic but there is a big difference between Flax and Flax/Black. There are instances for example in HQ and HJ-X-Z where it matters:
HQ has for example in Monaro:
18E is Flax
28E is Flax/Black.
38J and 38K which is Doeskin/Black (K is the BW Raydo insert version)
38E and 38G which is Doeskin/Chesnut (G is the BW Raydo insert).
Monaro LS:
18R and 18S Flax
28R and 28S Flax/Black
Monaro GTS:
18X and 18Y Flax
28X and 28Y Flax/Black.
Also:
60V in HJ and HZ Kingswood is Chamois/Covert
60A in HX Kingswood is Chamois/Black.
The examples given are VERY different looking interiors.
I'm not sure if Torana had straight Flax or just Flax/Black

Byron, if you mean Flax/Black as in Flax vinyl with black carpet, seat belts, dash pad, dash, steering column, steering wheel etc, then yes LJ with 48E is Flax/Black.

Is there a straight Flax also like in HQ?

Thanks Ice for the confirmation.
The car was stripped down before I bought it. It is still in pieces at the workshop and I haven't been through all the bits and pieces yet.
Would I be correct in guessing Flax seats, door trims and roof lining. Black dash, seat belts, carpet and parcel shelf?
Do they still make Flax trim kits or stock the material?

It's 48F for LC. I have a LC S rally red with sandalwood 48F.

48F sounds correct for S. 48P and 48Q for SL. And there is no 48B trim for LC Torana sedan, only 41B, 42B and 46B.
