Hi

I recall that he did a bit of motor racing in the early '70s. I found a reference to Oran Park where he was relief driver for Terry Robertson in 1971.

Cheers

Wow, a singer and a boxer.

Terence Trent d'Arby won a Golden Gloves which landed him in boxing school in the US Army.

Believe me - unlike Chris Isaak, Lionel Rose was a better boxer than he was singer, but he did have two reasonably successful hit songs.

Thanks Bazza, this clears it up. A mate and I were debating whether he actually raced as he's pictured in shorts and thongs!
