Lh lx uc diff mounting points.

But today i was informed by a well known diff shop that the uc rear lower trailing arm mount was located in a different position to lh lx as well. This i don't understand why as they all run the same lower trailing arms.
Can anyone shed some more light on this please.

I think there might be something in that, I think I have seen a few race cars with that mod.

I meant rotating the mount or the whole diff rearward to install a longer trailing arm.

On a race car i could slightly uderstand to be able to change roll center of pinon for more or less trackshion. But all street cars where the same asfar as i know on the lower diff mounting points for the standard factory trailing arms.

Just stole my sons laptop to add photo, so what they are saying is that the lower bolt hole for the lower trailing arm is in a different location to lh lx torana. According to them the 1496285152231953266113 (1).jpg 66.27K 6 downloads 1496285152231953266113 (1).jpg 66.27K 6 downloads bracket is rotated more then lh lx to get pinion angle correct. Can anyone confirm this as i was always of the belief that they where the same and only the top arms where located different as they use the salisbury diff with the mounts cast onto the centre of the diff instead of welding them on as per lh lx.
Also both trailing arms top and bottom are the same length as far as i know too.

The floor mount holes are further forward not the diff lower mount. Was changed first on A9X's, to correct pinion angle as the top arms being closer together, same applies with UC and the small Salisbury diff. All Torana ( LH, LX UC) control arms are interchangeable.

Or just top arms only.

By now most of you might be wondering why i want to put an lx diff in a uc. Simple diff shops won't weld top mounts to the cast steel center of a borgwarner diff. So i have to get it made to suit lx and then make it all fit together with modified arms.

Never afraid to ask a stupid question, is it finances that prevent you fitting a salisbury to negate welding the top?
There are some heavy duty centres available these days.

Also if you could measures from front engine crossmember bolt on the front chassis rail to the lower bolt hole for the rear lower trailing arms shoul give more evidence if it was moved forward or back to suit the Salisbury diffs in a9x and uc as stated above by myss427.I have uc and lx hatch here. Ill see if I can pick a difference on the weekend.
Thank you.

No diff ratio that is required for this specific conversion. Otherwise yes i would of just put a ten bolt in it with Bullitt 4 pin center.

would be more easy to use a cortina diff than a LX diff in a UC
