Also might have to cut in the middle and extend the flare for clearance from the tyre?
Cheers

geez that still looks tight.
I cut more from my front guard - within mm of the bolt holes and right to the edges of the glass

Those are big diameter tyres for sure.
Mine are not quite that big. I have trimmed a fair bit out and am taking even more but I don't need to do that front and back.
The problem area for me is above the wheel.
The inner support above the wheel tub needs top be modified so I can increase clearance.

Have trimmed even more than that out of mine, required some trimming and re-work of the inner support as mentioned, plus I added some 2mm sheet metal flares and placed the two top nuts on the outside:

Flares always need modifying to fit full sized wheels and tyres, so far have always split and re-shaped rather than cutting and extending:

As above, I've split and reshaped them, much nicer finish than having a flat pot in the middle like some IMHO.
Being fibre glass they are able to be flexed, so you might be able to pull them some, or all of the way, to where you need them.
My rears were so bad that even after the stretching to actually get them on the car, a number of years later I split the rears, took a kind of pie cut out of the rear and repositioned the wheel arch and glassed it back together, now they easily fit the best they ever have and easily fit the 26" slicks and the current 15-12-26.1 micky thompson street tyres.
Also as above, cut every last thing out you dare leaving only a spare mm to get the bolts and nuts in, or use clinch nuts, you can almost never take too much out.

Pitty the Hornett flares are not arround any more, they fit a 27inch tyre no problems. But as everyone has commented go almost to the bolt holes with the metal trimming.

Getting up there in diameter but with the right cutting and flare re-shaping it will work fine at the sides/ends. Looking at mine its only a 26" tyre but wouldn't need too much work to fit 27.5 comfortably.
Your biggest issue will still be at the top (the width makes this worse also), especially if you want it lowered much.
