I've just fitted them same controller by the sounds of it and have the sender unit fitted between the radiator fins just below the top radiator hose, the controller is set to 65 degrees C. If you have it actually in the coolant then I think that you'll need a higher temperature to set it.
What fan/fans are you using? Are you using the original engine fan as well?

2 tens down stream engine side.. and yes in the fins thanks for your in put

depends on what temperature thermostat you're using
Exactly. I'd go at least 5 degrees over thermostat fully open temp, and bear in mind this should include any hysteresis - if it turns off 5 degrees colder than it turns on, you don't want this to be too near the thermostat temp.

Are they two 10" Davies Craig or Spal? Do you find these to be sufficient?
I fitted a Davies Craig high performance 14" (1500 cfm) in front/upstream of the radiator and removed the engine fan but occasionally I feel that it needs a bit more. I'll refit the engine fan and test it some more.

With that discrepancy it’s probaby worth checking actual temps are with a temp gun.

The instructions state that the sender unit will normally read about 15C lower if it's mounted in between the fins of the radiator than if it's actually in the coolant.
