Hello Everyone,

I'm having trouble with one item on my LH and it's holding things up with the rebuild. The Diff Bump Mount. Mine was removed during the rebuild for a repair and now it can't be found. I've tried to locate one but they are hard to find so I've found out.

I was wondering if someone would be able to give me the measurements of one so I can have one manufactured.

Thanks

Anth

If memory serves, they were only fitted on 5.0L cars, which likely explains why they're hard to find?

They are on more than just 5.0L's.
You'll find one on an LH 4cyl or some UC too.

The plate is 114mm x 45mm x 3mm
Hole ccs 88mm (check your floor)
Rubber block 45mm x 45mm x 56mm tall
Chamfer is 8mm x 15mm on front and back edges. (8mm on top, 15mm down sides.)

An HQ bump stop might get you through but Torana is a different shape.

If you use a diff other than standard it might bottom out earlier than desired anyhow.

U.C.? I thought they were only on the early L.H.s. (up to Sept '74)

Wasn't the pinion bump & bracket only on models that had the small or large Salisbury diff?

My 2x 5litre SS's with the Banjo diff don't have it.

The GMH Workshop Manual and parts manual contradict...  One says its fitted to all flavors, the other said only fitted to certain flavors. VB & VC but not VD.

You have to be careful of Parts Catalogues. They aren’t a historical record and can be misleading. What is printed there may mean something entirely different to what it means on first read.

I think his car had the MPH speedo so would be an early one. Is it an original 5000?
