Even rarer are the 4 cylinder overhead cam LC's and LJ's. See them on the old ads but never spotted one in real life.
All outakes from the ads:-
One Torana, Two Torana, Three Torana, Four...
The New Torana 1600 Overhead Cam....They're Really Groovy!!!
Hey Little Big Wheels!!!!
My mate used to have a LJ four door four banger auto. Pretty sure it had 12in wheels on it...? Was in such good original condition!!!!
If I remember rightly the rocker cover on the donk had a lightning strike on it kind of like the Opel symbol????? Not sure what capacity it was? Pretty sure it got sold to a fella who took it rallying????? Such a waste...

Only just picked up on this thread, and I realise it's nearly 2 years old, my first car was an Absinth Yellow G Pak, I bought it in late 1981 from WH Lober in Miranda (Sydney) for $5,000 (I think) I had it for a couple of years and traded it in on the same colour 77 LX SLR5000, wish I still had both of them

Same deal for me. I have recently taken possession of my mums red gpak. She bought it new in 75 and it's been sitting in the garage or the last 12 years. I want to say thanks to the guy who did the work with graphics . I bought a set today.
have you received these yet, and are they the ones on Ebay

Not yet, they should arrive tomorrow. I saw the ones on ebay but I went with the forum recommendation a few pages back and bought the paint mask kit from http://grafixunlimit...a/lh_lx_uc/lh#.

Hello to all who read this post about the GPAK stripes,
The following set of pictures shows how i did them on this Mandarin & Casino model known as Junior,
The kit was purchased from Grafix Unlimited and from what i understand was traced directly from one of the Jamaica Lime cars i own purchased from Victoria.
Let me say firstly the application of the mask requires quite a lot of pre measuring before laying them down.
Ideally you would have extensively photographed yours before they were destroyed or alternatively seek out an original car with them still intact.
The kit that you can buy is great and gets you only 50% there as to getting them finished. It offers no start or finishing references at all and no lay out guide. (THIS IS WHERE YOU NEED TO HAVE DONE YOUR HOME WORK BEFORE HAND ).
Even when you are ready to lay the mask theres some thing else!!
You may have to cut the sections over the mudguards into sections as the clear plastic backing paper does not conorm to the shapes and will leave creases kinks and generally stuff it for you.
Cutting is the only soloution
Once the stripes have been laid then you can commence masking them up and applying the desired colour .
The method used here is the Clear over Base coat 2k.
Removing the mask is the best part to reveal the magical..GPAK...lettering
Next step is to clear coat over the the whole panel and block it down and buff to the desired level of shine you require. The finished job im sure you will agree here is nothing short of fantastic. But you need to have your whits about you doing it or it will look terrible...hope this helps all who read this
regards..DARREN GPAKING1975
