Heres a pic of the start of my pro street torana. Its going to have a blown 386ci small block chev in it out of my hk monaro which used to be 8/71 on it when it was in a circuit boat. I've got 15x3.5 and 15 x 14 aluma star wheels for it already as well as 4 link brackets, bars and shocks etc. I'm going to paint it Red hot which is a VZ commodore colour.

This is a pic of the four link brackets i got from Ken Lowe and the strange shockers i got from VPW. I look at mcdonald bros brackets but i liked the prostock style allowing the sway bar to be mounted to the top of them instead welding another bracket to the diff for that as well

I'm painting the monaro at the moment as well i've just put together a 6inch roded 350 for it to replace the 386 cuber i took out for the torana. I put a half chassis in a 4 door LC and the guy that had the monaro wanted it so i did a swap. I've learnt a few more things about chassis now so i'll make this one a little better. I'm going to paint them both the same colour so i think the monaro will be a cool tow car for the torana at the drags.

I've put HQ stubs and discs on the torana and fitted my Weld aluma star wheels with front runners. Haven't got a lot done due to working on the monaro as well. Next step is cutting out the firewall and dummy fitting the engine and box and getting the car sitting where i want it before i cut out the rest of the floor etc.

I'm coping a SFI 25.2 3/4 chassis for this one so it'll be pretty well the same as any current prostock chassis from the midplate back with twin chassis rails pretty much the same as in the MR MAD torana but mine will be just out of mild steel.

I've measured up the spacing between tyres i've got on my current rims. They are 33 x 17 x 15 which are 21 inchs side wall to side wall. With this width i won't have enough room to get the weld on the inside of the fourlink bracket closed to the diff centre. Luckily i Got a pair of 33 x 15 x 15s off Kerry Treymane which would of come off one of their prostock cars. They've done 20 passes with heaps left on them for $100. You've got to get a bargain sometimes.

The headers are Hedman S10 truck headers i got from Jegs in the states with some other stuff. They ended up being only $205 AUS delieved to my door.

Haven't done much to both cars for a while due to working away but now i'm home everynite so i try to put an hour in each nite in the shed. I've got the rear floors and inner guards out of the torana and started to stretch the wheel arches to allow for the 33 inch tall tyres.I'm pretty happy with the way their turning out. :D

Thanks guys. i'm trying to do as much a can on both cars. I had some lite fingered prick take some stuff from my shed so thats made me have a break from the cars a while. So the monaro is getting the 307 back in it for a neat streetable cruiser. Lucky all the long engine for the torana where at the engine builders. Anyway pays to lock your shed where ever u live.

Haven't done much to the torana lately as been flatout finishing the paint on the monaro. My fourlink brackets are Junk so i'll have to get another set. Got them from a place that used to build a lot of dragsters and altereds so i thought they would be good to deal with. I was so wrong. :furious:. Any way heaps a pic of it at the moment.

Midlife, I get my own stuff from he states saves being ripped off by the middleman. If their the turbo setups arethe ones u see on ebay. They don't fit HK's or toranas but I have helped a mate put a set on a HQ which they only just fit. I make my own stuff as a lot of this stuff the header plates are to thin and end up warping. Get more satisfaction doing it yourself anyway. Cheers Mick
