They have been around for about 20 years. They used to just do stroker motors. Used to be located in Ferntree Gully Melb.

The site says they do a 388. Might be an older kit.

The 388 is a 383 with a slightly bigger bore. What I posted was from memory. I didn't have current info on them simply because I haven't been investigating a stroker motor at all for some years.

I was thinking about getting a 186\234 kit for the LJ stock car but I didn't think the street kit would be money well spent, and for the price of the pro race kit I could finish building the LH or LX stockcar with a V8 in it. So I didn't go much further into it.

the problem with stroking 308s is once you go past about 336ci you have to grind some of the bottom of the cylinder walls away dont forget, ive got a 334 stroker and its f#cken awesome, well recomended :spoton:

He lives in the bush somewhere now, and builds them from home. I know a bloke who worked for him for a long time.

Now he says it is a 355 Pro Stroke crank. If they have a good rep I might take it.

Clint is a great bloke to deal with, he helped me with my rebuild. He is a very knowledgeble bloke, builds a lot of wild engines for ski race boats ect. as everyone has added he is in Heathcote, which is about 30 min drive from Bendigo. AFAIK they were the one of the first to make a 355 stroker kit for a 308.
I was actually talking to 1 of his sons on saturday

I don't know how good their work is now but back in the early 90's their stokers did not have a great opinion. My mate had a torana which he only use to drag race and not very often too,now he had a 355 stroker made by pro stroke and it gave him nothing but trouble and it wouldn't last long either and this is pretty much the same story with most people I've talked to back in the early 90's.It wasn't a very powerful stroker either as with a toploader behind it and 3.9 gears in the nine inch with huge Macrerys he could only manage the best run of 13.5 which was a piss poor effort from a $8000 motor back in the 90's.

Since the idea of putting a v8 into an lc/lj is fast coming to an end in nsw i'd like to know how good the 6cyl strokers are.

Ive tried emailing prostroke and phoning but havent had any luck.

Has anyone got a firm price and specs for 6cyl 234"?

Hey All,

Strokers, one of my favourite subjects, i have done alot of research in the last twelve months about them.

When i bought my Torana it had a 344 Stroker in it, which consisted of a Ford 292 Y block crank, holden rods and chev pistons, the crank had its ends modified and the block was modified to accommodate the thrush bearing on number three cap, this setup was done in the early 80's when strokers were new, it was built by a company called Dominator Race Engines, who do pretty crazy motors, anyway getiing back to it, as i was not keen on this motor and as new technology is available, i looked into my options.

Pro Stroke were one, but i was advised that there cranks are cut & shut.

The feedback i got was either go Come or Harrop.

I went Come as it was going to be a three month wait for a Harrop and despite that i have been extremely happy!

The point i am getting too is, if your going to spend the money, buy a crank that has not been cut & shut, because they have limitations and are very hard to balance.

My two cents worth!

Hearing the words welding and crankshaft in the same sentence isn't my cup of tea.

Mmmm warrant the welding but what about the rest of the damage caused by a failure?

But do they have a history of failure?

Lets just say I have heard a very carefully worded statement.
