G'day,
Not having much money to spend these days and needing some new rims I was thinking about rims like on the Falcon below. (They are pretty cheap.)

Posted Image

Has anyone got any pics or seen a LH-LX torana with this style of rim on?

cheers.

I am wanting to put these challenger rims on my car which is flareless. So I assume that 15x8 will be the largest I can fit under the arches.

Would this be right?

What sixe tyre would work best on a 15x8?

Cheers.

Hi Kudu,
I checked these out some time ago. From memory they only come in +11 offset. Therefore the 8 " wont fit on the front of a flarless car as the backspace will be around 4.4 inches. I was going to use 7 inch fronts and a +25 would be better even in this width but not available. The rears would be ok as 8 inch. Front tyres 195/55/15 and rear 225/50/15.

Now if you paint out the spokes on the Challengers...tell me they dont look like the original CAC wheels the car ran?..Johpheres or whatever the other guys call them..they were originally made by Commonwealth Aircraft Corporation...I know...I was there...picking up some wheels for Frank Matich for the F5000 A53....I saw the wheels and the moulds...but I am sure someone will argue with me on that point. Thing is...they are close enough for me and MRNOS.....the rest can go jump....

Here is my car with ROH Challenger wheels on it.

Posted Image

The rears are only 7" wide right now but in the New Yr I will be ordering a pair of 15 x 10" in A9X offset, HQ pattern and they should fill the rear A9X flares better.
This is my alternate set of wheels and not the one I normally run.

here is the reply that was sent to me.
"Yes we still make this wheel it is called a Challenger and we can make them in a 15x10 it is a 26n offset which has a 113mm backspace"

Regards,

Tracey

Cheers

I have an LX hatch with flares and have been looking at a set of Challengers myself. I currently have 15x10 with 265/50/15 and 14x8 with 245/50/14. If I stay with the same width rims I can only buy 15x10 and 15x8. The rear tyres are no problem but I would have to buy new fronts. Does anyone know what tyres are available without exceeding 245 width and in a profile of 45 or 40. Using these profiles the new tyres would not exceed the overall height of my current tyres.

Hi Kudu,

I was hoping to be able to get bigger tyres than that. I didn't get enough traction with a 265 let alone a 225 on the back.
