I place my vattery in my boot usually for a couple of reasons.

1. Heat does not help batteries life span
2. the boot offers more space for bigger battery
3. The stereo is usually in the boot thus there wiring for it is easier
4. Allows twin throttle bodies and seperate airfilter housings...

:D

cheers

this an lx where talking about? batteries breath flamma ble gases when the alternator is charging it hance why i dont think u will get it thru a pink slip as there is no firewall as such between the cabin and boot like there is with a sedan. same reason why u cant run fuelcells in hatch boots also. something too think about. darrin. i had to move my battery in mine to allow for my aircon compressor to fit but being a lh with no charcoal cannister i mounted mine on the drivers side.

Mazda MX5, BMW (some models) and MERC (some models) some under rear seat)all have boot mounted batteries. All have a vent tube from the sealed battery cap area vented to atmosphere as standard.
