then everything fizzles out as we try to keep TORANR AMORE's LX from stalling, whilst flooding it with cool water with the intention of not letting it seize.

What a Wild Exaggeration Heath, for a 308 that overheated after a burnout...... stalling??? seizing???? huh??? It didn't stall and definately would not seize. It takes a lot more than that to hurt a 308.

As for the the track and possible weather:
At Heathcote Raceway, they have what they call "the Jet", which they run up and down the track to prepare it. It runs at an extremely high temperature and they use it to dry up the track after there has been rain. They can only use it when the rain stops however and it takes them about 1/2 hour to fully prep the track this way. So even if there has been morning showers, it should be OK as long as it stops before racing begins.

I would worry less if the forecast on Friday says 'possible showers' than if it said 'rain all day'. If it says 'rain all day' in Bendigo, then I wouldn't bother going.

Cheers.

What Rick just said is spot-on correctamoondo. I was chatting to the guys at Heathcote last weekend about drying the track.... and yeah pretty much as long as the rain physically stops, they will then have the track totally dried and ready for racing again within 20-30 minutes.

We ran out of luck last Saturday because the drizzle was consistent and eventually turned into rain, and never let up.

So if this Saturday sees a few showers I wouldn't stress about it..... we just need to hope it doesn't pour all day!

PS. Has anyone been in contact with Heathcote recently about this day? ie. to confirm the schedule/times... and to confirm that they realise we plan to use the burnout pad etc ??? Cos we will have to make sure they start the DYO bracket early enough etc....

hey 1/2 hour to dry the track...sounds good...but yer im doin all the 'anti-rain-dancing' that somone pointed out earlier but yeh hopefully *touch wood* we dont get any consistent rain! Does anyone know if we go past someton? And if supagas in someton is open on saturdays? I wanna get a tank of straight propane for the day :burnout: but if we dont go past it its ok, still goes alryte on the normal pump LPG (propane mixed with crap!)

Isn't it illegal to fill a car with 100% propane?

Yes Brad, we do go through Somerton.
Yes, Supergas is open till 12:00 noon.
Brad, I suppose we could all file into the service lane and wait while you fill up... ... or you could get up there before we leave, then we don't have to stop.... :spoton:

Please people, have your tanks full before we leave!!!!

Well...to be honest stedz...there's a good change its ogna rain on sat :<_<: , but still...ill be there, and i think many other will be going regardless, either way if its consistently raining it will probably turn into a good cruise, and if we get a dry spell we can go racing! So yeh still come along cos i rekon there will stil be a good turnout.
--Brad

*EDIT:ohh yeh, and the forcast for bendigo is a possibly thunderstorm*
