I had an AWESOME day!!
I had heaps of runs, best been a 17.32, which I was stoked with considering I didnt expect anything lower then 20s from the vn....
And I am now no longer a burn out virgin!! Was just starting to get the hang of it and had some dilemmas... but the cheer from the crowd put a smile on my face.. Thanks to all...
Had a few dilemmas getting home, but got there in the end..
A big thanks to all organisers, a fantastic day as was last year..
And another massive thanks to everyone that helped me with my car.. To many to name names but you all know who you are and I appreciate it heaps!!
Cant wait to see pictures!!

Got deafened multiple times by Ed's, Chris's, Rick's and Shaun's cars.
Man did 830 put on a good show or WHAT!? Haven't uploaded the photos yet as I just walked in the door but I think I may have gotten a good one.
Anyway, thanks a bunch to everyone involved in organizing it, and thanks to everyone to coming along and putting a good show and creating some inspiration to the lazy bastards like me who haven't finished their f*cken Toranas yet! hahahah
Good onya guys. This is what the forum is all about. Had fun, learnt heaps, met knew and caught up with old faces. Mate I'm stoked, too bad I couldn't go to Bendigo and sink the piss with some of you blokes. I get tired to easily

Take it easy everyone... I think I'm gonna go to bed soon lol
- Heathie
P.S. Matt: Please be forgiving with the photos.

(I did actually do 3 runs....shock horror!!!)

But great to catch up with so many great people and some a bit dodgy!!! he he he...

Was a blast to see that awesome LJ... thanks 830HP!!! Sorry to see the slight panel damage.

Thanks for the laughs Glenn, that was gold!!

Thanks too to Kev and Rach (Pat too), Makka, Matty and Maddy (Pity about the wild duck not being there...), of course Tiny and Simmo for travelling M-I-L-E-S!!!
Always great to chat to Brett and Deb.... Oh, I believe Deb's got one on the way!!! (Please explain...)

Also Paul, LX2DR... big

Really shows what the forum spirit is all about.
And he cut short his trip to Thailand for it!!!! Cheers Paul!
On a sour note, we had an accident on the way up... Caine (Lurkin308) had a lose - at about 100k's on the Hume!!! - with his LC GTR 308 on the trailer. Jack knifed causing damage to his Commo tow car, also I believe some diff damage (? movement) to the GTR... Got home safely and was uninjured which was the most important thing.
Could have been a lot worse, we know you'll recover mate!

Good to see Rene out there going for it!

Well it was Mrs Knoath's first drag event and she really enjoyed the day and the company.
She commented on the (very wet and trecherous) trip home what a nice bunch of people the GMH-TORANA clan are.
Couldn't agree more, love.
I hope everyone's weekend ended safely.
Thanks again to all who helped organise it.

It's amazing what you can do in the middle of no-where, apply some bush engineering!!!Also Paul, LX2DR... big
for helping Kev with the shifter problem... allowing him to go on and claim the 1st prize trophy for the dial your own.

Gotta also thank the WRAITH's VN tow car too, it donated the largish hose clamp that was needed to keep that shitter in the hole where it belonged so he could shuffle the gears. ("Shitter", intentional spelling mistake, it wasn't going to "shift" anything without some intervention)
His day could have ended at 3 runs but finished with 21 i think after the fix and his end of the day win.
Had a great day, gave the new engine a bit of a workout and goes ok for a stock 3.3 with the air con belt on (private joke).
Finished with a best speed of 74.06 mph and best time of 18.4190 sec.
Kev/WRAITH send a PM with your private email address if you want the copy of our dial in race? forgot to give it to you

Got to meet a few familiar faces and got to meet some new ones too which was great.Cant believe some forumers live soo close to me, cant wait too go on a cruise!!
had a few electrical problems with ignition leads and oil

The weather held out which was great unlike today which is pooring at the moment.
I hope Caine got home alright after that hairy jacknife, and that there isnt too much damage to his cars. As Knoath said at least you wernt hurt mate. See you at calder im sure as I now have the bug!!

Anyway A big thanks too all for such a great day and I hope too do this again as an anual or bi-anual event.

Thanks to everyone who organised the day you deserve a pat on the back.
Personally it was great to meet quite few really good people also having a great day.
The LC ran beautifully all day except for the lack of traction, but having revving all day at 7-7500 rpm I had fun and broke nothing!
I got a best time of 14.7 @ 91mph but continually all day we were in the high 90mph but had no traction, I think slicks may be in order.
As for the wife she had a great day and hasn't stopped talking about it and I think she has more of the bug than me. (Which is a good thing when it comes to spending dollars on the LC ha ha).
Kristy had around 10-12 runs and ran a best of 14.8 @ 95mph and I don't think the Statesman International knew what hit it.
But all in all a great day, great croud and everyone should be proud of themselves.
Can't wait for the next one.
Cheers Chris.

THANX FOR A GREAT DAY. REALLY ENJOYED THE DAY. TO BAD I COULDNT GET MRSLR OUT THERE BUT WE CONCENTRATED ON SPIRO'S VN (INDULJ) FOR THE DAY. CAR WENT 12.20 WITH PLENTY OF POWER IN RESERVE. CAR SUFFERED MAJOR TRACTION PROBLEMS DOWN THE TRACK. HE WAS HOPING ON A LOW 11 SEC PASS BUT HE WAS HAPPY CONSIDERING IT WAS THE VN'S FIRST TIME OUT. LOOKING FORWARD TO THE NEXT DRAG DAY. THANX AGAIN TO ALL THE ORGANISERS AND IT WAS SWELL TO CATCH UP WITH THE LADS....
CHEERS AND THNX AGAIN..

Oh dear... I hope this isn't going to be come a gmh-torana forum drag day curse... Glad to hear no one was hurt.On a sour note, we had an accident on the way up...
After an early incident with a washer that 'came out of the back of my car' and LXCHEV blowing me away on my first run of the day (The DYO)

I didn't even realise the LJ with the massive engine was 830s. That thing was awesome.

Umm knoath, want to let me in on the secret? i dont seem to know whats on the way?
mind you im a bit brain dead today, come down with one of those dedly colds that kills brain cells.
Had a ball yesterday as usual. For me it was getting used to the grunt of bretts car again, specially cos i only raced my eh last weekend up there and was doing 16's and then i jump into bretts and do 12s, big bloody difference i tell ya.
All up me and brett managed to do 18 passes in LXCHEV. and no breakages, ran like a dream. Except like everyone else has mentioned, no traction. Wasnt bad as in taking off and ending sideways or anything, just getting bogged down and not getting off the dam line. Down the track she just flew.
The one bad side of bretts car is, it doesnt have much attitude, it sticks to the ground and drives straight which is good, but makes her as a spectator look a bit boring. People probably wonder why he doesnt smoke them up heaps, but those tyres dont really need it, nor do they smoke that huge, i think stedz noticed that too.
i did a best of 12.4 for the day, not what i was after as id done a 12.2 in it last year. But brett is still a tad suss on the time stands. A few clubs have been up there and had dramas, and cars that did race up there, were heaps diff times at calder. So yeah we are a bit sceptical that they were a hundred percent correct yesterday. Last week brett got a sheet that said he did 125 mph and he knows that was way out.
There were a couple stand out cars for me on the weekend, stedz your car is a machine, doesnt miss a beat, has the sweeetest sound!!! and wildlc hmm thats one nice car.
Hope to see some pics of the day soon.

Well I got home a couple of hours ago, and just trying to catch up on everything!
What can i say about the day that hasnt already been said.....
I've gotto thank every single person who came out to the track because without all of you, the day cant happen! The weather looke terrible most of the day, and i think alot of people were scared off by the rain in melbourne, but as is typical the heathcote weather was compeltely different! It turned out really good for us ( if a little cold.. no heat in the track meant no traction!).
Anyway.
After the heart pounding incident with Lurkin-308 on the freeway, knoath and i made it to the track in once piece and I took it much easier this year spending the whole day catching up with people that i hadnt seen since the last one, and of course meeting those that i hadnt before!
Lurkin - Mate, I still feel bad about what happened! That trailer was a nightmare mate! As dick mentioned, I'm just glad you were ok and there was relatively little damage to the torry and the tow car! It could have been worse, and i'm glad it wasnt! It was good to catch up on the phone that evening, Thanks for letting me know you got home ok mate! Hopefully next drag day i'll see that thing down the 1/4!!
Glenn - Ultrablue, Was great to catch up again mate! Cant wait till you can make it up here for a nitro meet, I think you and your brother will enjoy WSID!
Shaun - 830hp - Mate, Thank you so much for making the huge effort to bring the car out. I can understand the ammount of work that goes into running a car of that callibre and all i can say is it really made my day to see the car for real and in full flight even if traction was a problem! I hope the 1/4 panel damage isnt too severe and is easy to fix, Once again it was great to meet you and the team, and thanks for bringing the beast out to the event!
Rene - LushusLH - Great effort on ths skid pan! A standard 6 cylinder isnt really designed to do a skid like that but you did a bloody good job of it! You mentioned some problems on the trip home! I hope it wasnt too serious! Next year back out in the torry hey!

It was great to meet Mondie, ChiaLX, Wraith, lc-069, WILDLC 6 ( What an awesome car mate. Built to top notch show standard and you gave it SUCH a hard time all day! Top stuff!), and alot of others for the first time and catch up! When you get to put a face to the nickname, you can really see why this forum is so great!
And of course it was awesome to catch up with "the usual suspects" Who i had met before! You all know who you are of course! It's always enjoyable to catch up with everyone and both simmo and I were glad to have some time to chat with you all!
Matty, Makka, Maddie, Kev and Rach and Mr and Mrs Knoath for a short time made a mess of the hotel

Anyhow. I'm working on resizing some pictures that we took ( not many!) and will try and post them for you soon!
Cheers to everyone, Thanks again and look forward to the next one!

Shaun's Amazing 830Hp MONSTER
ChiaLX - Very impressive!
Wasnt quite sure about this... Different! that's for sure!
Blown Twin Throttle VN.. When it's sorted this will be a MEAN machine!
Need i say more!? Slightly off their best times all day, I think they had fun though

Taken about 10 minutes before the accident, I was soo looking forward to seeing this run! next year!! Next year! ( Just glad there were no injuries and not too much damage!).
Rene's beast... Did a pretty mean skid too!
Toranr_Amore.. pictures dont do it justice... needs sound! 7500RPM victor bray burnouts! And about 300 passes throught the day

Toranr Amore Vs Knoath i think Knoath won!?

Makka's Blue Beast.
The Stocker.. i belive these were mates of Stedz?? Wsnt the slowest car out there either! They gave the poor thing heaps ALL day!
Such a well presented show car! And talk about rev like hell! Driven - not hidden that's for sure!
Wraith's Blue Beast! He won the DYO! Top stuff mate!
There are pretty well most of the photos that we took with out little point and shoot.. Defintiely more to come! I know my mate clayton who was with us took some AWESOME pics with his SLR...
Cheers!

Unfortunately I didn't get around to meeting 830hp in person, but at least I got to see that weapon of yours in action! ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC looking and sounding machine mate!!! Thank you heaps for bringing it out to play.
As Deb said earlier, we did a lazy 18 passes in LXCHEV, many more and I would have needed more fuel! I managed an 11.92 @ 116mph, just slightly faster than last Saturday, but still not a P.B. Had a blast all day anyway!! Ran a stack of low 12's. Wish I took stockies up though, could have had a play out on that burnout pad!! Well done to those who did fry tyres - great finish to the day!!
After 2 Saturday's up there in a row now, and approx $300 of fuel, I need a bloody rest!!!!!!!!!

Bit of a pity what you are saying about the times Deb in relation to stopwatch error...have you guys spoken to them up there? Might be something they need to be alerted too or they might be able to explain??
