There were Q's about sizes and stuff that the seller couldn't answer, that's why I reckon the bidding was low.
I was fortunate that boy's hatch shell is still here and I could measure up and compare to Commodore before bidding.
Sorry mate.

New cam, lightened flywheel and the car is slower?
Bit of an update:
This thread got me thinking:
http://www.gmh-toran.......c=35388&hl=
I went up to my engine builders last night and got him to crack test a head for my LJ.
We got talking about the Commodore engine and reckoned it is slower due to low dynamic comp from the new cam, it doesn't pull like it used to out of corners.
I took the head off last night (first time it's been off) CC'd the combustion chambers and piston bowls inc. head gasket (still stuck to block) and found 8:1 compression...........
Head is now getting a couple of mm taken off
Look out Mick!

Bore = 93.54mm (+.060)
Bore radius = 46.77mm
Bore area = 46.77 x 46.77 (2187.43mm) x 3.142 =6872.91mm ???
Stroke = 82.55mm
Swept Volume =567358.72mm or 567.35cc???
Head clearance volume = 51cc after maching 2 mm from head 42 CC
Deck clearance volume = 30cc (including compressed head gasket)
Total clearance volume = 81cc after machining 72 CC
567.35 cc + 81cc = 648.35cc
648.35cc divided by 81cc = 8 : 1 hehehehahahahehehehahaha
RA3302 + .060
Bowl depth 1.6mm
Bowl size 68.5 X 85mm
Gasket .9mm
Piston to Deck .7mm
Compression ratio
10 : 1
