Yeah not long at all. I was just over there on an espionage mission of my own. I've noticed that rodomo is working hard to come up with his own improvements, but I have no doubt that they will be insufficient in protecting his position.
He's not posting because he's still out there in the shed working hard to think of things that I haven't already beat him to

i remember when i first did them i used a marine seal, which is the metal cup and dbl lip. probably what yours is. not sure why i went away from it??
my seal is too small in the od to meet the hub, so it was only sealing with the flange part. didnt leak any grease though. but yeah, i only packed the bearings, not the hub.

And it seems obvious that Rodomo enjoys using his brayn and making things himself, whereas throwing money is not always so enjoyable. Especially if it doesn't improve things.
Exactly. Why not save a bit of money and use a bit of ingenuity ?
Keen to see what comes next.

You don't need grunt to smash rockers like that, oops...
Correct again!
But do you think for 1 minute that I'm going to admit that the rocker geometry was up the shit after the head was shaved and the block decked?
Surely more grunt sounds better?
I'm a bit confused as to what happened to be honest. All I did was took the head off, replaced the gasket, fiddled with the dissy and jets?
The saddles were being shim adjusted but it did 2 & 1/2 laps when the head gasket spat and when I pulled it apart then, there were no broken rocker parts.
The only reason for this that I can think of is that perhaps I had the saddles arse about?
I had the arrows pointing to the valves.
Both of my manuals (1 Gregories and the other Max Ellery) contradict each other.
Anyway...........The second pic is what occured between the trailer and the scrut. pit.
Change plug, change lead, pull rocker cover off to find this.
Fitted another saddle (I carry them anyway) line up for the 1st stint and hear "PING" then a dead miss, this happened at idle.
So.............
Jump in the Rangie (no A/C and 35 degrees), drive home (25 mins) grab the roller rockers that I was saving for the "Mick Seeker", back to the track, (another 25mins) (did I mention no A/C and 35 degrees?) fit rollers at track and get in 10-12 laps in the arvo.
AND SMASH MY P.B. BY A SECOND AND A HALF IN 35 DEGREE HEAT!!!!!!!
Look out Mick, look out Ronnie..........HERE COMES THE GREASE SLAPPER ! ! !
p.s. Heath, I have no idea what you're talking about and I think you should stop snorting it.
