AFAIK arrows towards the valve.
Rocker cracking was probably just coincidence it was a bad one.
Was the rocker gear new or used?

The rockers were V8 ones.
Have a look at this pic, you can see where the rockers were slamming the bolt bosses.
All were marked and it bent a few push rods as well.

Thanks for that..............
I'd better get my finger out..........
And look at the budget.
How's the budget looking ?
I was cleaning out my jocks drawer and found $150, I'd be happy to lend it to you so you could enter if Rodomo Racings budget for Feb has all been spent on R&D for the Mick Seeker engine....

Something you missed after a hen's night?
I wondered where you made the extra bux it takes to run your rig Mr Chippen..........or is it Mr Dale?
Thanks for the offer Mick but there has been another outing, yes, 2 in 2 weeks.
So the budget is non existent and the car is in pieces.
After the last outing, I though I'd better re-check the roller rockers as I had no tension wrench for the screw in studs and a dodgey allen key at the track for the posi-locks.
Also, no flat surface to roll the pushrods on.
I pulled 5 more bent pushrods out of the engine during last week, not a bad effort I thought as I had established a new P.B.
On Sunday though, it bent another one, I must have missed it on the roll test? I replaced it and it went well for the rest of the day.
Another drama was the exhaust. It got caught and bent the day of the Calder washout as I backed it off the trailer. I straightened it for the Jan 31 day but it blew out late in the day.
Sooo...
Last week I threw together an exhaust to do the meeting Sunday.
It was thrown together from crap I had laying around.
It didn't flow as well as the old exhaust and I was down a second all day until the muffler blew a baffle. Then I got within 1/10 of my P.B.
Anyway...........
Now that the valve train, dissy advance and mixture is reliable again, phase 2 of the upgrade begins, hence why it's in peices again
Oh...... and Ronaldo was there too...........but that's a another story........

The car is in a million pieces at the moment, nothing wrong, just secret squirrel up-grades.
Next outing should be the kick V8 arse drag day at Heathcote.

I cut holes in the front valance early in the piece hoping to let more air somewhere in the direction of the brakes.
After the Calder 12/08 brake issues, I though it was time to improve.
Fab.
Not perfect but better than it was and the valance looks tidier.
The duct tubes are the original interior side vent ducts from the car
This was done prior to the 31st Jan event at Sandown

So did it help?
Hard to say?
I've only suffered a bit of brake fade once at Sandown with different pads.
A trip back to Calder will soon tell though.
Calder has a long straight that goes down hill to a hard braking area.

Some of the secret squirrel stuff me, the R&D and fabrication teams have been working on.
Damn it! The batteries in the flash must be flat!

***WARNING***
The following images will hopefully, one day, really
upset Mad Mick and Rotten Ronnie at Sandown and the rest
of you mongrels at Heathcote
These are the extractors that have always been on the motor. They are Motorvators.
I've never really been happy with them but there aren't much better around unless I want to spend big bucks. I have better ones for when the R&D developments are complete
The R&D team have come up with the magic figure of 10 degrees departure angle from the exhaust port (measured with the latest of hi-tech equipment of course)
I chopped the header plates off an old set of factory E.F.I extractors, the primaries are around 1 3/8" so plenty of meat left in the header plates.
Then, I port matched them to the gasket including the 10 degrees through the header plate (the head ports are also matched to the gasket within .5mm)
More to come................

did it get to the dragstrip the other week?.

Next, I chopped up a set of Genies and bought a length of 1 1/2" pipe.
Made up a "thingo" to re-shape the pipe.
And welded them onto the header plates.
More to come...............
