That should keep the carbs a little cooler.
I hope so? Or will it pull heat from the extractors and sink it into the inlet?
If you look at pic 3, you'll see that it follows the inner edge of the chassis rail. It also follows the horizontal profile of the rail with a 20mm gap.
There is a big hole in the LH rad. support upright that should direct cold air into this area. Might have to help it with some ducting.

I sent Rotten Ronnie a PM to see if he's going but he hasn't replied?
I think he's scared.

Rotten Ronnie was blown to the weeds and Mad Mick from Bunyip is in my sights!
(wakes up from dream and takes a reality check )
Where do I start?
WARM UP
Cold and foggy when we got on the track, instructed to turn headlights on Take it easy........take it easy...... bit faster.......bit faster..... Then on about the 3rd lap......Spin! Spin Spin! (in best Murray Walker voice) at turn 1 under accelleration after I thought the tyres were gipping up.............nup..........full 360! Tyres too hard, dodgey throttle application and TOO MUCH GRUNT!!!!!!!
BREAK
Fiddle with accelerator return springs.
Check tyre pressures. (too high)
FIRST TIMED OUTING.
No incidents, all laps within a second or 2 of PB. 1 lap was right on it.
Still cold and damp.
BREAK
Still not 100% happy with throttle. Makka helped me check full throttle which wasn't.
Only getting about 3/4.
Fiddle.........fiddle........check tyre pressures.
SECOND TIMED OUTING
Better, no incidents, new PB 1/2 a second faster 1:37.something?.........still cold though.
BREAK
Check plug colour and richen up mixtures, back off idle as it was starting to run on, adjust tyre pressures.
THIRD TIMED OUTING.
Accellerator was sticky coming off idle..... push....push harder.....pusher harder still.....then it's all there! Plus it was hanging on to it's revs.
Result?
180 at turn 4 and back to pits for an undie change.
BREAK
Fiddle fiddle..........fiddle fiddle...........drop rear tyre pressures to 26psi
The car went it's best for the day in the last stint but by then the timing blokes has gone home.
CONCLUSION
Accelerator linkage set-up is crap. I can't find a medium between progressive application while still maintaining full throttle and idle. The levers on the common shaft pull in an opposite direction of rotation to the butterfly shafts and are not a parallelogram.
Dunlop "R" series are crap cold.
Need richer needles.
Fiddle fiddle.............fiddle fiddle................................
