Am I reading that chart right?
OA7's are leaner than RH? Correct?
The three carbs tune like out of a text book and there is no missing or farting.

How's the V8 coming along ?
It's not. It's been stagnant while this mod has been on the go. Lots of bits gathered though and unlike the 6, it will pretty much full on straight up, not bit by bit.
Once I get this set-up sorted I'll be back onto it and maybe a motor for the LJ too during the cold months.

The thread appears to be 3/16th UNF as far as I can identify it. Research also says it is a No. 10 die nut?Basically, if I shorten the adjustable links by 25mm it should work. I just have to identify the thread on the adjustable links and find a die nut.
Fitter and turner needed here as the blokes I have spoken to (tool shops) aren't as sharp as their chisels?
BUT!
The roving R&D team have found the Nissan Pulsar fuel injected throttle body links MIGHT just do the job?
These might be the same as late Camira EFI???? Dunno? At pick a part I just went up the Nissan isle when I saw this linkage?
It is about an inch shorter, has a left and right hand thread and has steel ball pivots.
I also found that these ends will screw onto the original links.
The thread pitch is the same but the OD thread size is .005" bigger.
P.S. I'll learn how to drive Vista sooner or later, bare with me.

I've modded the accelerator pedal so I can "heel and toe"
This is the original set-up
You can see how far and disorientated the acc. pedal is from the brake and the angle of a 51 year ankle to get to it, even then just hitting the bottom of the pedal.
So the fabrication team went to work and produced the RoDoMo racing treadle.
(Only available in brushed aluminium finish at this stage)
More pedal to hit.
Also, I've changed steering wheel.
Being a tad vertically challenged, when I had the distance to the pedals right with the seat position, I felt my arms were too bent when steering.
The indicater stalk also had to be "adjusted" with a heat gun to give knuckle clearance.
And while we're on the subject of seating position, as we are all aware of the angle of the steering column to the seat in LC/J, something I noticed while retightening the wheel was the position of the clutch pedal through the steering wheel spokes.
You'd think the brake pedal would be more in line?
There has been further R&D work on the triples as well. Skinnier, richer needles, metal linkages which have also altered the geometry, the poppet valves in the butterflies have been blanked off and a new cable bracket fabricated.
Next race day Oct 17th Sandown

Braking and accelerating are done with the right foot and the right foot is on the accelerator most of the time if you are doing it right...
Depressing the clutch is done with the left foot but is done a fraction of the time in relation to actual driving ao the left foot is at rest most of the time, this would redice driver fatigue one would imagine.

And when you "changed" the steering wheel, did you just sit it on the floor and jump on it?

It didn't fit the LJ, it had an LC boss, so I took the wheel off the LC boss and mounted it to the Commodore boss.
You can see the holes in the spokes of the 1st wheel.

It would be a crime against humanity not to drill at least a couple of speed holes in that pedal....
No speed holes but it's got a "roller rocker" arm
I'd fiddled around this week re-tuning the carbies after a couple of mods and thought I had it sorted.
I had a couple of little things to do, refit the grill, extend a vac line to the booster, fit a captive spring to the acc. pedal so it couldn't flip back and fall flat on it's face, change the oil............... little crap.
The rocker gear sounded a little noisy while tuning the carbs so I added adjustment to the list, no problem, 1/2 hr job?
I restarted it Sat. arvo and not only was it rattley, it had developed a miss?
Spark from lead?...... CHECK
Swap plug, any change?........NOPE
PULL FREAKIN' ROCKER COVER OFF???????........... Smashed pushrod, no, not bent, smashed like a snapped carrot!
Bad pic but you can see the rocker out of alignment.
Ring engine builder buddy...............
Me: Why is this happening?
EBB: Because you're a dickhead?
Me: How can we fix it?
EBB: Shorter pushrods, I have some V8 ones here, they're shorter, try them.
So............ drive 1hr there and back, grab pushrods, go home, finish oil change on tow car, try pushrods, too short, dig out a set of standard pushrods, ring EBB and suggest pre-loading lifters?, fit 6, drive Dad to Bingo (25 mins), come home, swap cars, pick up trailer, fit other 6 pushrods, fit grill, drive back 25mins to pick Dad up from Bingo, finish off other crap, load tools and spares into tow car and drive car onto trailer at midnightish.............
But........
Besides all that?
It was great day!
More like a celebrity event?
Neil Crompton was there..................but he didn't race.
The new Stig was there.
Maxwell Smart (Agent 86 ) made a cameo
And GMH were there with the new concept GEM-T-R-X-U-1
And, of course, the Grease Slapper
Which ran flawlessly all day until my knob fell off.
AND.......I ran a new PB!
1:31.8 which is quicker than Rotten Ronnie and Mad Mick!

From here:

The car ran well last time and the plan was to see how it went (and the tow car) further afield at P.I.
Then, if all goes well, make the trek to Winton.
Maybe the fun day?
