Spoiler is not standard fitment on SS.
A9XSS had the spoiler fitted ex-factory/Bill pattersons late in 77 at the end of the LX run. I don't know if a factory spoiler existed for the hatch before then.
If that is indeed original, it will be worth spending the money needed to return it to original or something close (as per your taste and budget)
Those LH head lights just never look right and there was a discussion as to if the first of the SS's were black in the engine bay but I don't remember the out come. My engine bay is black but so too is the outside.
Good to see it's a SA car too.

If you are interested in my 2 cents worth on the rear spoiler or anything else on the car, I live in the area also and can drop past.
Just PM me your phone number and we can chat.

Hey barron the car is a genuine dandenong built L31 M21 Gu7 lx ss as for the engine bay it should be white as the black is flaking off and the white is there even the floor underneath is white. and that was my son you seen at wooliesNice find and save.

kangur the interior needs work but its all there and it doesnt have the original motor it had a 253 in it so i will be chasing a ht block and your right bargains are still out there you have to be in the right place at the right time my son allways wanted a ss hatch but he thought they are way out of his reach when i took him and showed him the car he was like a kid in a lolie shop just the look on his face was pricelessWow,what a bargain.Has it still got the original motor in it? and whats the interior like?.Goes to show that bargains are still out there, very very rarely but they are still out there.

If it was a dead stock untouched car Id be thinking differently. That said still a good find for the $$ even if it needs a new rail.

Whats ya method of removing the paint? Paint stripper?, Wire brush?, or other?.
Just need some ideas on how to tackle mine once I finaly get them home. Slowly making enough room to fit them in side by side.

I wouldn't count on it, it was probably done during the 80s, and judging from the way most 80's cars sit in the arse, the 10" Hotwires and Radial T/As it probably wore wouldn't have got anywhere near the guards anywaywhoever put the flare's on must of had skinny's on it
