What type of SS am I looking for ?
Would love a 308/man because all of the reports I have on the 6 & 8 is that the 6 did not have great full consumption so I may as well get a V8

AND you just can't beat that sweet burbling sound of a V8

Regards ........... Barry

Hi hatchmanss76 im stripping the paint with a wire wheel on a grinder it rips it off and doesnt damage the metal i have used paint stripper in some areas but i find the wire wheel works best. i tryed my buff with sanding discs but it made the paint go like chewy as it melts it to much. Not wasting any time I see.
Whats ya method of removing the paint? Paint stripper?, Wire brush?, or other?.
Just need some ideas on how to tackle mine once I finaly get them home. Slowly making enough room to fit them in side by side.

Its acrylic it will heat up and move, try not to stay in one spot too long and get the angle of the disc right as acrylic heats up quick and you can buckle the metal &/or stretch the metali tryed my buff with sanding discs but it made the paint go like chewy as it melts it to much.

Out of intrest when doing this sort of repair do you use a rail from a donor car or get a new one made from box tubing?
Keep up the good work Daz and keep us posted on the progress.
Must start doing some more work on mine. It's been 3months of no action
