Are you saying that the cops used CB Radios for communications?
Or am I getting it wrong?
Was joking about CB Radios
My understanding they used AWA two way radio.

I used to have a few of those radios floating around years ago.

Was never ever a V8 UC Torana as the New VB Dory was the New Baby at GMH and that was getting the V8.
There was a Turbo option from the Dealer for UC Torana.

Makes you laugh a bit when a turbo UC cost $11,000 ( or $12,000 with spoiler and dress up items ) and a year previous you could has bought an a9x for that price or slightly less.

The 427 HT HOLDEN was on loan the Victorian Police NOT NSW police
Looking for tell tale signs of a NSW STP POLICE CAR
1) The radios used by the NSW Police from 1969 to about 1985 was the AWA car phone two way radio and how it was installed, the cradle was bolted to the underside of dash under glove box then the AWA radio would slide into cradle and lock into position
2) there where three different ways to mount Ariel on the GTR Torana
Roof mount, gutter mount and front guard mount which is 450 mm to 500mm from front wind screen
3) To install a AWA radio ,front mount Ariel ,the round hella spot lights on front bumper bar and the siren you will need 28 holes in the car body
( with various drill hole sizes used )
Can you show me the 28 hole that are in your car body ?
4) I do know there is a lot more items that are fitted to the STP GTR's
5) I am sorry to say even the position of your Ariel show that a AWA police radio was never fitted
The two name you dropped are they are very nice people
But what has the Victorian Historical Police Vehicles got to do with the NSW POLICE and Fitz knows more about late nsw police car than the old STP patrol cars
I am reposting for those beleives in the truth in AWA car phone two way radios, ariels and their mounting points on the
NSW Police GTR s Torana
cheers

I Better point out that Tony Fitz is the Expert on these STP LJ GTR Torana's he is the Person who the NSW Police will send you too if you need information on there old Police Cars and not RM125n, I find it funny that you RM125n that SAY you have researched for 20 years on these STP Torana's and do not have any photos of any STP GTR Torana's ? and have not posted any on here at all. And the photo I posted proves they had Brackets on the front Valance as it can be seen in clear view with a wire going through it in the photo I posted. I would believe Tony Fitz before I believe a Forum member that has no first name on here and has showed no photos on here after 20 years of research he says he has done.
RM125n in the Forum Rules in becoming a member you are meant to have your name up, well least first name. You better get on it before a Admin spots it.

Hmmmmmmm, this appears to be the same GTR in both pics, same number plate at least?
Top pic has ariel roof mounted and no granny sunvisor.
Bottom pic has ariel guard mounted and granny sun visor.

Number Plate can not be fully seen, so I wouldn't say they were the same Car.

GAA-049 and
GAA-04?
There is 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 that could be in the Mix for the last Number on that Plate, Plus the Two GTR's has Differences that you have Pointed Out.
