I have seen these in a LJ before. It is very very tight fit. MOst fitments do actually hit the windows...

Cheers

I used saas seats when I had my LJ. They had the flip forward mechanism so back seat passengers were able to get in and out. They were a snug fit but I still used the original runners and steel plate with modifications (cutout for the mechanism that allows sliding forwards/backwards).

the torana floorpan is different heights on the inner rail to the outer rail.
im 6'2 so i needed to get mine down as low as possible.
i cut 20mm out of the rail mounts(height wise) and rewelded them.
that gave me a good amount of headroom

then it was just a matter of running some flat stock across the seat where the bolts are and welding the flat stock to the rails.
you have to get them dead square or they wont slide lol.

i also mounted mine inwards, away from the side windows by hanging the flat stock over the inside of the rail, this not only makes them fit very nice,it also sits me infront of the steering wheel lol

These are not aftermarket seats they are Honda Prelude seats i found at a wreckers after a couple of hours measuring to see what would be a nice fit.
They use the Prelude runners and the lj riser thingy's and they tilt forward because the Prelude was a coupe.

Scheel seats like the ones in vk brocks or rs2000's are a nice fit.Main problem is that most seats are to big,I can say that the coulsen seats(vt) & senator/hsv seats(vn-vs) are too big as I have sat them in my lc & they basically touched each other, the vt coulsens nearly touched the roof.

Before I put gtr seats back into the lc it had recaros, very nice but were too 80's & sat too low due to the seat brackets,it didn't help the fact that i'm short either.

Those Prelude seats look really comfy, but really not a fan of the top of them just look too narrow for my liking. I am still undecided if i will re-trim my standard LJ seats in velour with extra bolstering or go for some jap import seats.

Sorry to hijack thread a little but would be interested to see other peoples pics of different seats in LC/LJ.

Cheers,
Mick

i dunno where you are but in victoria if you need to make new bolt holes in the floor you need to put 3mm(?) thick flat (also has to be yey square, cant remember and too hot to clamber under the ute to find out) underneath the new holes, as well as you high tensile bolts and nylock nuts.
just finished putting sigma seats in the ht and had to do it for roadworthy a few months ago.
cheers

dunno dood, i think if its only if you use new bolt holes through the floor, and the plate has to be under the car (looks fab :P) so ya cant pull it through when ya hit a brick wall at some stupid speed (it would take a bit i recon lol). give ya local r/w tester a call and just run it past them, they're usually good for info and will give you the exact way so you dont take it in for a r/w to find a list 2 sheets long and 30 days to correct it :)
good luck

Check out my car domain site below, pretty sure you can see pics of the seats.

They are GT4 Celica Seats, ST202 model, and they are comfy! Took a few nights after work making up mounts, but worth it.

use the original seat rails and a couple of bits of plate steel and a selection of different nuts and bolts, pretty simple once you figure out what holes to drill where, might not pass a rwc in your state tho
