go the holley as unlike bloody tripples you can keep it in tune and there easy to rebuild
everyone wanks on how the 350s are no good
my mates torana had a 192 with the biggest solid lifter cam and a 350 holley and screamed passed heaps of v8s

Not hard to come by though. Any wreckers will have thousands.

In the words of Dr Phil: What were you thinking?

They are a lot more advanced than say, the 1bbl Stromberg which is the standard Torrie six carb, and they can perform very well whilst still maintaining acceptable fuel economy. I've never built one myself though, so i don't know if they're easy to tune etc, but I've been told they have potential to be awesome, and aren't bad as per factory spec. I've only done a few Strombergs so my knowledge is very limited.
And as per the first line, LOL, at least I think I get it, lol.

Both the ones here are off late "airpump" motors.

You would still need a 2bbl manifold to fit a varajet to a red. You would probably have to make an adapter too as I think you will find no-one makes one. Good luck in your hunt for an electronic dissy at the wreckers too. They are usually one of the 1st things to go.OK. my car is a UC and its a stromberg the manual says so. i DO have extractors so that's easy.. I'm going to U-pull-it tomorrow to get elec. ignition for her.. so what model commodore should I get the varijet off? and how hard d'ya reckon it will be to fit it to the red motor?
thanks,
Matt
