Well, sorry to dredge this old one up again but today I finally got around to taking the radiator into the radiator shop. I got a call back and they tell me it's 40% blocked, so that should be the issue resolved, afterall I put a different radiator in and it solved the problem. It will be interesting to do a test when I get it back in and see if that extra 1/2inch of thickness in the current radiator makes any difference or not.
