I rang GMH up years ago,asking about Dealer Numbers and they said they dont discuss them or give them out,So maybe they have the Old Dealer List,but just not telling us. ??????????????????
I told them i wanted to find Lesky Motors Dealer Number out,But they would not tell me,So i Rang Lesky Motors up my self,and they told me,and ya wouldent Believe it there a Guy still working there still from 1972.
GMH must have a Archive of old stuff,cause how these old Pics turn up in Books,Mags Etc and in the Book or Mag it says,Pic from GMH Archives.
They Just not Like saying or telling us i Guess,But it is there Stuff,Maybe one Day they will release pics and stuff that we have never seen.

Trying to find out who dealer 15 is ? Have just got some info on my 72 xu1 through Daryl and Bazza (must say thanks to bazza for the info)only plate that is a mismatch
is the adr plate and it has a 73 JP block in it. Would also like to find out what the original rego number was if possible.

hi all does any one know who dealer 324 was and where was this dealership cause my 1970 LC 2 door was from there. Its a melbourne base car. any info would be nice I know all the history on my car but do not know what dealer sold it.

hears what i said earlier about them
dealer 616 and dealer 617 both are trading at liverpool in the 70s..back then liverpool and surrounding areas were full of market gardens and 2 huge holden dealerships..A.C. mcgrath (616) located at the corner of the Hume highway and boundary rd Liverpool..A.C. Mcgrath are still trading on the same site today,
Pat Cullens garage (617) located at 324 to360 Hume Highway Liverpool and traded up till early 1991..In 1991 A.C. Mcgrath(616) then bought Pat Cullens Garage(617) for a undisclosed sum That merging created the Mcgrath Motor group that now stands over both sites...Mcgraths new dealer number is 544..Pat Cullen is now dead but he wanted his son Peter to take over the business,But when Peter turned his back on the offer Pat sold to Mcgraths, I gleened all this info out of a Gentlemen called Sam Ferraro who still works at Mcgraths today,Sam also worked for both A.C.Mcgraths (616) and Pat Cullens (617) and he also worked at Ron Hodgsons Holden Cabramatta(036)..In 70s/80s Sam reports that Hodgsons was the biggest Holden Dealership in N.S.W.But they went bust and Sam moved to Pat Cullens (617) Sam then went to A.C.Mcgaths (616) and was there when A.C.Mcgraths Bought out Pat Cullen(617)..This is Sam Ferraro:s entire working Life and he is still selling holdens and making a living at McGraths at Liverpool(544)!!!! The "blurb" on the shannons site is wrong and (025 J.A.Gilbert waitara) is someone other than Pat Cullens Garage(617) as the Mcgrath Motor group was very helpfull to me when i started to talk about tracking motor history down .. They put me in touch with Sam Ferraro who in turn has put up with me asking all these questions and i have no doubt about what Sam has informed to me..

I have the original sales reciept with a car I bought and it shows they paid $2997.29 for the car (LC "S" 173 auto), $30 stamp duty, - $921.82 for trade in on 1965 Holden EH Sedan. Sold by Ken Esnouf on the 9/9/71.
Wonder if the dealership is still open? Would be interesting to take a visit with the car.

Ah Cheers meanmachine.. My grandparents bought my Kingswood second hand in 1979 from Les Vagg Motors at Pennant Hills... My Grandparents told me it was a Business car before they bought it. I assumed that it was sold new from Les Vagg as well.. Seeing as Les Vagg is the next dealership number after Pat Cullens i am tempted to get Holden to double check this..

Got a copy of a 2001 dealer conference list the other day with 38 dealer names and codes through out Australia.Checked the list we have on here and ticked off 13 that are on the list.I know from the 70s to 2001 there would be differents.But would it be worth posting the list up.Also hopefuly will be getting more dealer codes in the near future.

I would say yes go for it !But would it be worth posting the list up
We must remember and its probably been covered before that if a dealer sells up the code usually changes,
Would be nice to have a date range with all codes but probably near impossibly to know this info.

894 is John Sivyer 1060 Ipswich road Mooraka (formerly Arnold Degen Pty Ltd) who traded at the same
address & the same account no.was retained by John Sivyer. (the change over of name occurred during early mid 1970.)
865 is in fact Boyded 236-240 South Tce Bankstown NSW It is not Metro Motors Morley W.A.
I will try to post more dealer no's up when time permits

Lock Motors (692) is listed in the LC and LJ Owners Manuals as being located at 419 Magill Rd Kensington Gardens. I presume these suburbs are one and the same?
On my 2005 list of Holden dealers, Metro Motors of Morley WA is currently dealer 865. Significantly, both Morley and Boyded are listed in the 1972 Owner's Manual - but they couldn't both be number 865.
Despite our efforts in asking for sources for these numbers - I believe that quite a few of the dealers on the forum list are current dealers who may not have always been operating in the early '70s.

You are 100% correct St.Morris & Kensington Gardens are both the same suburb as they both have the same post code which is 5068
It just depended on which side of the road that you stood on as to what you called the suburb. One for the have's & one for the have not's.
R.E. Dealer code 865, I will let you into a little secret if you check through the pagewood & acacia ridge LC production records that you see on the vin disc you will see Dlr 865 is a zone 2 dealer not a zone 5 dealer.All NSW dealers are zone 2 & Perth are zone 5,plus I have sighted
paperwork from a Boyded delivered car & checked against the disc, so i have had an unfair advantage in knowing this.Boyded were around for
donkey's years before the torana's were released.I know that their no. 865 throws a spanner in the works as it is smack bang right in the middle of a range of perth dealer codes.A good example of this happening is No.871 which is William Bros Ballina. which also is a NSW dealer
also No.863 Hardes Auto House Taree NSW.In essence only Adelaide produced cars were shipped into perth only a very occasional odd car
from Acacia ridge made it over to perth and i would say it would be less than 50 cars made their way to perth from the Qld plant during LC-LJ
producction.Boyded's during the late 90's amalgamated with 5 other of the largest gm dealers in nsw to form one company which gave them
total maket control and hence their dealer no became void.Metro Motors at some stage has had a restructure and has 865 allocated to them.
I have a fair idea of what metro's original no was ,but need to confirm as i have most of WA dealers worked out from the late 60's till the mid 80's. I hope this is of some help to you.

It sounds like we are on the same page. I have never had any doubts about Boyded being 865. It really does become problematic when people (in good faith) cite current codes.
