I would have thought a D/CD list on at Torana forum would/should be related to  1969 to 1979 approx.

 

I gave up 1/2 way through this list with 23 errors and that's at a glance. (out of 70+ listings there were 23 errors:-  including if you apply the Torana Date filter of 69/79)

 

There are 156 dealer/D/CD listed out of a possible 500+  for the torana period.  There is a few more to find.

 

If you are lucky if you know what dealer code your car came from and its correct on this list,  in relation to date of sale.

If you are unlucky  and you know what dealer code your car came from and its incorrect on this list, you may well think your came from an FNQ dealer who did not exist with that D/CD until after 1989.

Lance Motors (St Mary's)  from 1947 to about 1988.  Originally a sub dealer for Stack & Co.  Had also 3 different Street addresses over the years. The 626 is correct.

March 1963 Handbook it is listed as Metro "Greensborough Motors Pty Ltd"   Metro all the way to -  Dec 1977

Dec 1977 Greensborough is gone and Bundoora appears to this day.

Hi Bazza,

                Originally 310 (in 1962) is a good fit for Central Garage @ Balmoral.  Trying to confirm they were still in  LC/LJ period.  Sales figures in early 60's are 6/7/8 cars so very small.  This would suggest a change happened.I am thinking a re-issue of 310.  But the re-issue is unconventional  in that country sequence number issued to metro dealer.  Yes the boundaries of Metro did grow.  

 

Big changes in this period for Cheney/Patterson mergers etc and multiple locations.  Questions as to what D/CD was kept at what location and what D/CD's were re-issued are unanswered.

 

"Interestingly this dealer (310) disappeared from from phonebooks and owners handbooks at the end on 1971."  so no LJ sales?

This is the most complex re-issue I have come across and still unsolved.
