Hi

I am not saying that your car is not a 000 car, I am saying that the first batch were not exclusively 000s.

For instance, out of the 221 GTRs that left the Sydney plant up to the end of 1969 - only 19 were 000 (all zone 2).

I was wondering why my gtr would have the dealer code 000,apparently from what I was told by my cousin in law (previous owner) that the first owner had something to do with the rally teams in the early 70's with the car having some xu1 parts on it...m21,baffled diff & 3.08 lsd,triple webbers.The xu1 head I ended getting was the original owner's spare head.

Hi guys iv"e been reading this thread with great interest and can tell you that dealer 025 is john a gilberts at waitara. my lc xu1 was the first sold there. i have the log books and know the original owner. he worked there as an aprentice at the time. put his order in. had to wait 3 months and when the cars finnally came in he had the choice of 4 differrent cars in different colors, he chose the linamint one.

gday fellas great job on the code list. i have a new one for you dealer no 305 sturgess motors york st sale. i also have a 214 code l34 and would like to know more about promotional cars and what there roles were,and how many of the same model were coded 214 and who drove them' thanks chrome yella

I dont see Dillon's of Ivanhoe on the list
If we had the correct dealer number for Dillon's, we could place it on list. You say your brother in law worked there so he may know it's dealer number.
I asked and he doesn't know, it was about 35yrs ago.

More info:
Dillon's of Ivanhoe, "The cheeky little Holden dealer" was their slogan.

I have looked through the building and didn't see any reference to a dealer number. (it is now a pet shop)

But I did find a contact that may know the dealer number?
A gentleman in his late 70's, but I haven't spoken to him yet, just his son.

A bit of trivia also:
The B.I.L tells me they had a contract with Pioneer concrete.
They had 186 "crate" motors in their store and could fit a c/o to an agitator in 20 mins.

what exactly does the dealer code 000 Internal Holden code (race cars, exported cars, internal vehicles etc)
stand for ,
does it mean that the gtr was optioned up at this stage
or is it just a car yard number,
or does it mean they went their before they were shipped out to other locations
Basically is their anything special about a LC gtr that has dealer code 000

...have we got a current list of dealers?? ...gtrtorana was doing an excellent job of updating at one stage.

efiXP 000 as a dealer code indicates the car was retained by GMH as a press car, demonstrator, test vehicle, executives car or a myriad of other uses that car companies use their vehicles for. Before being sold through a normal dealer probably as a second hand car.

I worked at Paul Bagnall Holden Padstow which bought out Ken Sams - did PBH (The Pied Piper of Padstow) have the same dealer code?
