L18 is starfire 4 in a commodore. Would think it was the same in UC. Educated guess only.

im puzzeld? the front end came out of a uc with a 186 and had 2850 badges on it???

Well my main concern it that the front end will still be suitable for my hatch? Buy comparing my current front end to the starfire one, they both look the same.

Were the 4,6 and 8 front ends all the same?

The Starfire motor has the same engine mounts as the Holden 6. Mainly because the Starfire 4 is a cut down version of a Holden 6. If it had an Opel motor, that's when the crossmember has to be chucked. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong.

I will correct.

If you have an opel frontend you use it to fit a 350 chev.
