I currently run 13" hotwires wrapped in 205/60/13 yokohama 352 rubber.

I have my doubts with the avalability of these tyres in the future...

So i'm thinking of upgrading tyre and rim combination.

I'm thinking of going either 14's or 15's but I don't know anything about availability or clearance.

My LH is unflared, lowered about 20mm and has a front SLR style spoiler.

Any thoughts appreciated.

Cheers.

There are still quite a few manufactures who make 205/60R13 tyres. You just need to ask.

I am onto my second set of Sumitomos, and am quite happy with them. You can still get a Bridgestone in that size... called the Grid 3 or 3 Grid or something like that. There is also the BFGoodrich Radial T/A, through don't know if you would want it on a daily driver.

Ask some questions at your local tyre place. Of course if you just want to go to a 15" rim i am sure you will find a larger range of rubber (at lower prices in some cases) to choose from. :spoton:

i thought that might be the case with th 14's...

if i was to go with 15's would i be better off changing stud pattern or are there 15" mags with Torana pattern?

How would it be for clearance?

Has anyone got any pics of an unflared torry with 15's?

Cheers.

if i was going to go 15's i would be looking at changing to HQ stud pattern, there are heaps more wheels available and they are normally a lot cheaper than Torana Stud Pattern wheels.

If you want to give the torana a really tuff stance you would probably need to lip the rear guards so u can fit a nice sixe tyre underneath (say a 225)

And with the front you might have to trim up the front lip of the guard so it doesnt rub at full lock...

Convo Pro's really are a sexy looking wheel, arent they.

Remember that Pre-94 Volvo stud pattern is the same as Early Holden...

By reading the above, I am guessing that 14 inch rubber is hard to come by?

I was looking at a set of 14 x 8, 14 x 10 hotwires for the Torana, but wont go near them if i cant get rubber for them?

Has anyone in sydney had troubles?

Sorry if i stole the thread.

I'd love to know the answer to that too BCR42Y!

Thanks for the pics... 15's DO look good!

Any pics of cars with 15's sitting under flares?

Cheers.

265's are still available in 14inch, only BF Goodrich make them at the moment tho. I got a email from Yohohama website saying that possibly in 3 months they may have another batch of 265's arrive. Bridgestone dont seem interested in supplying them at all.
245's are fairly readily available, check with your local tyre shop.

205/50/15 fit just right with correct back spacing. (4" from memory) on 7" rim.
This tyre is legal as in keeping the correct allowed width and same roll out diameter as allowed from standard.
anyone with HQ pattern and no flares i'm still looking for someone to try this tyre on a 8" rim. Have rim and tyre, need car to try.

i rang a few tyre shops today... basically 245/50/14 is still do-able but 265/50/14 is a bit hard to come by.

What tyre dimensions do you fellas run on 15" mags under flares? are they easy to come by?

cheers.

Hi, I'm in this dilemma too. As for 15" tyres in wide widths, they are getting hard to come by as well. I just got my rego approval letter stating 225/45/16 are acceptable on an 8.5"rim. However, this is not a popular size and the prices reflected this with a starting point at $250.00 for some brand I have never heard of, or $390.00 for goodyear. I think I will do some more research. Its worth noting at the summernats this year most toranas I saw were running 17" rims with 235 tyres.
