Thanks for the part numbers dattoman,

Do you have the part numbers for ball joints, and the caster/control rod to crossmember bushes?

Thanks

Steve

Use the link to the rare spares website. They sell the rubber kits:

Upper Kit (4Pce) - 38.58
Lower Kit (4Pce) - 72.26

They have the ball joints and tie rods as well. Not too badly priced. Roughly about the same I paid 12 years ago.

Good luck, GO THE TORRIES!!!

Sorry to bring up an old thread, but I have spent a good part of today researching and just wanted to get some clarification if possible; and it may possibly help others that are looking into this in the future.

The GMH part number for lower control arm bushes and lower trailing arm bushes was 2807098, superceeded by 9942588. (as per Dattomans above post).

The current Mackay Part number is - A1121

The current Kelpro part number is - 25008, however Kelpro also list a 25007 for the "front control arm - lower inner front" and looking at the picture it looks as though the outer shell is a bit shorter and has three round balls on the end of it? Is this for RTS models only? Is there any benefit of using them over the A1121/25008?

I note there was discussion about the centre tube being rolled or a dedicated tube, how much effect would this have?

Of the two manufacturers which would you buy?

Sorry for all the questions, I have been burnt by replacing a perfectly good set of rubber bushes with the blue brand that is no longer around :banghead: only to find they have perished in a couple of years and with less that 2000kms on them. :furious:

I don't want to have to change the bushes again anytime soon, so want to be sure I get a good product.

The last lot of genuine bushes I bought came in little yellow bags with Holden stickers on them
Inside the bags were McKay bushes marked A1121 and A1119

And I'll be fitting them to the SS when the time comes

Failed polyurethane bushes is was put my SL/R off the road. Same situation as your car Halil, less than 2000kms & they fell apart like dry biscuits. I used Mackay rubber bushes in my other Toranas & when the time comes to drop the k-frame from my SL/R, i will be fitting Mackay rubber bushes to it as well

Hi Matt,

Thanks for the reply, sorry to hear you have gone through this also.

Did you end up using the Mackay rubbers in the rear trailing arms?

Halil.

Hi Tony,

I am going to use Mackay rubber products for the front and rear, the numbers of the parts from my research are:

Front lower control arms and rear trailing arms - A1121 (A1202 is listed for "control arm lower bush front heavy duty (With RTS)"

Front upper control arms - A1119

Cross Member to body Kit from Rare Spares - FEK9

Moog Ball Joints - K5103 Lower, K5108 Upper (Rockauto)

Tie Rod Ends - Still researching / looking for suggestions.

Steering rack bushes - Still researching / looking for suggestions (Haven't been able to locate any info on a rubber product being available).

Halil.
