Cheers for that guys!

My motor is now on definite order! Woo Hoo!!

I'll speak around and see how i go with the gearbox... I'm not sure how much it'd cost to get the tunnel cut up...

Cheers
Keith

good on ya nathan,

I didnt think it would be a major problem with the box, and im glad for you that it wasnt

so your getting there now, im not real impressed with those extractors that you've got, only in that you said they hit..

i will have to come over one day and check out the hatch when you get it, see what sort of pipes thats got.. pipes are a issue in that they cost an arm and a leg for real good ones..

Went out and bought a 100amp Fully chromed alternator... twice the pycical size of the standard gm alternator

seems to be doing its job... it blew up my 20amp fuses!!!! had to buy 35amp fuse for my thermos, as soon as i hit about 3grand it blew the 20amp fuse , about 4times.

mmmmm hopefully genie is ok...

my chev is starting to go better, goes quite hard, cant wait till it gets tuned, will go ALOT Better.

Soo how long till its in kieth? dont forget to order a sump about 4 weeks in advance, if you go for a high energy. I used a CVR starter on mine, fits very well, but there is starter motors to suit for only $125 buy it now on ebay... thats cheap! .
least if you have any problems there is plenty of us to help out! haha

they are a bit of a tight fit, getting the chev to sit perfectly on on the crossmember was alot of effort. nothing like a 6cy! whole different experiance. worth it tho :)

cheers,
nathan

Thought you might have learnt from your Pro Comp dissy that you get what you pay for... The CVR starter is many many times better than the crap you'll find on E-bay.

My starter is also a CVR. Once the motor lands at my door it'll start getting thrown in!! Hopefully within 4weeks!

hahaha! See that all the time.

Thats like wen i went to liquorland stud park....we saw a slab of
tooweys RED FOR $40!!!!11 We took it that it was a detterent for
people not do buy it.. Actually i realise it has nothing to do with distributors
but it just reminded me of it.
Cheers

im using a pro comp dizzy.. and i do not recommend them... junk!
i called the guy about my dizzy and he honestly belives there top shit. its very hard to win a fight with him, hes obviously been in alot of arguments.
there reliability is scary. i carry a spare module in my glove box :D

grab a 4core desert cooler too, there excelent...!!!! when i hit peakhour traffic, it literally cools down to 75-80 degrees, with twin thermos.

lots of money in these chevs.. haha, it all just keeps adding up  . worth it in the end tho.

took mine in the wet, and spun the wheels to 180km/hr in about 3second starting a 60, gave it a tune yesterday. Still need a real one, but it runs great/Better now. soon as you touch the pedal a bit the ass will kick out, lots of torque.

Looking good, those alternators are the go. :)

With the Pro Comp guy, no point arguing with an idiot, they just drag u down to their level and beat you with experience. ;)

Anything except the cheap chinese knock off imitations *cough* procomp!

A genuine factory electronic unit is better than those.

I had a MSD one... still ran like a bitch on occasions... ended up with a re-graphed standard one that made it go better...

Anyway what kind of ponies does the 350 put out Nathan

i did a burnout tonight haha, spins them up very fast, no strain on the engine lol LOTS of torque.

its a 1972 block and heads.. the standard heads hold it back alot

Why bother with fuellie heads? They were the thing in the 70's and 80's but nowadays you can get a better head from RHS for next to nothing, that out flow them.

its comin along nicely now Nathan, u need more tread on the back ahha and yeah std heads are shite im guessing they are either 23 or 18 degree heads which aren't very good for flow and performance

how much did the desert cooler set u back?

Don't tell the V8 taxi boys that

23 or 18 both will make power (18 better) depending on many many factors

How fast you go depends on how big your wallet is

What starter are you boys using? i ask because when the chevy in the monaro warms up after driving say to town (15k's +/-) i park it then run it to a shop run out then try and start the beast and the starter dosent seem to have enough oomph to turn it over freely. it starts fine cold just not when warmed up. could it be battery?? looks to small for the battery strap and stuff

Was talking to my mechanic today (didn't bring up the starter) he said that my motor has had some serious port work done and a decent cam, there was me thinking it was stock with plenty of grunt
