The photos showing the car at Bathurst with the decal in different spots is from practice and the race. There were always disputes with the sponsors of the races over the years and where the decals had to be applied, this was one of those occassions I believe.
The photo with 05 is from Phillip Island and the picture with 6 is as it shows with Phil Brock driving in 78.
Brock originally ran the L34 in 75 as .05, but there was a dispute with organisers and he wasn't allowed to run it like that at bathurst that year. I'm guessing it was probably first in best dressed when entering races as to what number you ran back in those days too, as there was at Bathurst in 88 when Brock ran the BMW without the famous 05. I think by that stage most people associated 05 with Brock and he just assumed his late entry would be allowed as 05, but i think the organisers were trying to prove some sort of point.

Was looking for some other photos and stumbled across these which I think may be the #25 car after its life at Bill Patterson Racing?

The other photos are copies from my earlier thread because some of them don't seem to be working there.

I'm sure this would have been answered before, but is the # 26 car a 4 door A9X or an upgraded L34? I can't see a bonnet scoop on it in the picture

Yes the Patterson car became the King Georges Tavern car. The 26 car is an L34. It was later sold to Gary Cooke and upgraded to A9X specs.

Wasn't the 26 4-door upgraded to A9X specs for Sandown & Bathurst in 1977. Isn't that the Basil Van Rooyen/Gerry Marshall car ?

Pattersons had 2 sedans in late 77. One was the car brock had used for the last 2 years, the second was a new LX shell built up initailly as an L34 then upgraded to A9X specs. The 26 car pictured here is the original L34. The other car ran as 24 at bathurst as an A9X, and it's the car pictured in the rain here at Eastern Creek. It should have the number 24 on it. The L34 was sold to Gary Cooke and upgraded as an A9X, later made into a road car and stolen.

The car in the rain above was sold onto another team and raced into the early 80's, then turned into a road car and painted blue. Some may remember it in magazines with the rego 1BROCK. I almost bought the car as a crashed wreck, but at the time it was over priced for a smashed up ex race car. I was lucky enough to see it being rebuilt as a race car and it's good to see it back on the track.

Wasn't the 26 4-door upgraded to A9X specs for Sandown & Bathurst in 1977. Isn't that the Basil Van Rooyen/Gerry Marshall car ?
