Hi peoples,
Had to buy new digi camera so i could get some pics together to post.
Been expeirmenting with photobucket so , see how we go hey !
Just a few pics of wheels, gearbox crossmember, modified front sub
frame compliments of GONZO'S exhaust here in brisbane and 3 inch
mandrel bend dual exhaust with hooker aero chamber mufflers and 3
GONZO'S resignators. Picture is of car that i have to dummy assemble
all my parts back into to have extractors remade(time consuming).

Hi everyone, Project still going ahead but slower than i anticipated.
Hopefully going to be doing the much avoided dummy assembly in
a few weeks so i can have the extractors remade. Done away with
the old 9 inch and upgraded to a sheet metal diff, better looking and
much straighter and stronger than standard 9 inch. also new to the
diff set up will be adjustable upper arms and up front i invested in a
set of hopper stoppers big brake with 4000 series slotted rotors
(there big and look awesome). The front k frame also got sandblasted,
rebushed and repainted ready to go in. Was originally going to put the
GTS rims on, but decided not to and bought a new set of weld draglites.

I'm looking forward to seeing a few photos of the Clevo in the engine bay. People that know me, know that I have a soft spot for Fords.

BTW, I run a Ford 9" and the paint on the SS is a Ford colour.

WOW! what a wild looking couple of weapons you have had there.
A forum member (lakeside) expressed some interest in dropping
a windsor into a LC torana, dont know if he actually went a head with
it,but if anybody does know or even if lakeside reads this thread, lets
us all know. Would look the goods !
Maybe some-one should open a thread on engine swaps, would make
very interesting reading. I did read about a bloke wanting to put a 253
and trimatic in an XD ute some years ago. the artical was in street machine
in some tech dept from memory.

yeh i would put a 454 in a F150 any day. Those power stroke deisels are noisey rattely pieces of S#%T! . The only reason i put the clevo in was that i had a lot of performance engine parts left over, and i couldn't bring myself to sell the parts to build a chev or a 308(cough , choke). But anyhow, a lot of people put 9 inch diffs and toploaders so why not put a C4 and Clevo in it.

Even though it is a bit of a mismatch i think its a nice setup, High displacement, lightish weight car.... Good Work, you've got my support as i've got a soft spot because I used to work in the prototype engine design department for ford while restoring my LH... another mismatch...

My mate has a 393CI clevo in his XY GT copycat, it's on the same LPG setup as my 308 and F******K me.. it's wicked.

I'd hate to think of the same combo in a lightweight torrie..

Man you gotta have balls.

One thing that I realised recently is that all the best toranas don't have any holden parts in them. So it looks like he's off to a good start.

C'mon it's not like he's painted the car pink or put chromies on it!!

If you like going fast "staying true to the general" is very expensive and in my opinion foolish, especially when your talking about early heads. If your building a replica or trying to beef up an original SLR etc then it's understandable. But when that doesn't apply, throw the entire driveline on ebay and start again. The torana diffs, gearboxes and tailshafts are no good, why stop at the engine?

I've got mates who are into fords and I've come to realise the clevo is a good peice of gear. Look at the size of the intake ports on those heads ffs! :driving:

Scottya who did your diff? Im on the northside of bris too and would like a new diff built. Would love to check this vehicle out some time. You got my support. Why the hell not. As others have said if it was me i would have gone with mopar but ford motors go well and are designed well and sound really tough.

HI ALL,
Project coming along slowly as usual. Hit a snag the other day. Couldn't mount the shockies on top of the trailing arm brackets because of the brake callipers are in the way. So i invested in some coiled over shocks and i am mounting them in the car this weekend. I also decided to do a mini tub job and got some tubular lower trailing arms made up 1 inch longer than the standard trailing arm with adjustable heim joints top and bottom to adjust pinion angle. I'll take more photos and post after the weekend.
Cheers

just a few pictures of what i done to my car on the weekend.

put the diff back in, rehang the exhaust system again and weld the neccesary brackets to mount the QA1 coilover shocks.
Posted Image
not a real good picture of the exhaust system , will get a better picture when the car is up on the hoist.

dummy engine and box in engine bay with extractors bolted in place. Plenty of clearance.
Posted Image
just got to lower the back another, probably 1.5 inches so the guard sits halfway down the wall of the 28x9x15 M/T slick.
Posted Image
Posted Image
upper and lower adjustable trailing arms with hiem joints i got fabricated.

Great work mate good to see someone thinking outside the square :spoton:

You can trim the lip on each side of the chassis rails for a little more clearance if you wish, I did this on my old hatch when I fitted a 427 Chev into it many years ago and this gave me even greater room when changing plugs and so on.

Another one outside the square,I reckon an LC or LJ with a hot 265 and Webers would go like stink
