Hopefully they are watching this forum :gun: , then they will realise the whole torana community is looking for them and they will have no hope trying to rebirth the car or sell the parts :fool: . If they do read this, park the car somewhere conspicuous so the owner gets it back in one piece :spoton:
Hopefully it was someone only after the sound system.
Best of luck getting it back.

did you infrom the police of the sighting?? yes sometimes they wont do a thing, but sometimes there may be a certain house/building/anything in the area that is a hotspot for them, may be able to track it down through their network. just a thought.

All i can say is the sooner that some one makes a cheap tracking device that any one can aford the better . we have the technology ,i would pay upto 1500 for one. hidden in the car the theff would be none the wiser. then you could find it fast before its in bitts

Ive installed quite a few of these. The kids locked the doors on the wifes statesman once with her keys inside, I rang them up and they unlocked the car from their office for me. By the time I rang her back she was already in the car, she was rapt, saved her heaps. They can also shut the engine/fuel pump/etc off remotely to stop a pursuit, and lock the doors until the cops arrive if you have deadlocks fitted. Can track a car (or earthmoving machinery which is where most of these units end up) down to a few metres, VERY versatile units.

This is where the car was last seen which was on sunday afternoon.

Hamilton St, Niddrie (airport west)

I went up that street 6.45am this morning and saw nothing. I just wonder wether it was an order? What I mean is someone pays someone else to pinch it, leave it in a pre-determined street, for someone else to pick up later. The initial thief may have had someone waiting in that street to get him away? He had to have got there somehow.

Eyes peeled. Every taxi out the corner of my eye makes my head spin

Baseball bats? what are we american give em a good ole aussie bashing using crickets bats. (yes I know we didnt invent the sport but we dominate/own it)

Did you know you can unlock a car using your remote unlocker via the phone, so if you lock your keys inside and your girlfriend has another remote on her set ring her up and get her to hold the remote next to the phone and it will unlock the car. Try it, in fact I might start a thread about it has helped me out once before.

A number of years ago I rang about a brown LX SS l31 for sale in the trading post in adelade but I couldnt get there for a few days and missed the car. In the driveway was a 308 motor block with HT engine number so I bought it for $50 while having suspisions about the drugged up bloke that sold it to me. :fool:

A few weeks later I contacted the local cop with the engine number only to find it had been stolen he gave me the phone number of the bloke who owned it, When I spoke to him he said he had nearly finnished restoring the car a genuine LX SS L31 when it was stolen and this was the first he had hear of it and as far as I know all he got back was a Block and Crank.

I cant remember but I think the blokes Name is Scott Maps does anyone know him and if he ever found the rest of the car.

Cheers Byron

I was in Autobarn in Airport West yesterday and saw one of Clark's flyers hanging there. So I just thought I'd ask.

Sad news mate... Buy a ford as your daily driver.. as colin said above, less likely to get nicked!

Hope the insurnace value was somewhere near the value of the car :(

Buy an A to B car and with the change start the next project :spoton:

A mate of mine had a LJ GTR stolen 30ish years ago. He got paid out and bought an EH wagon. After about 6-8 weeks the GTR turns up and he got it back off the insurance company. All that was wrong with it was the drivers door lock. He sold the car to his mate. His mate is legally deaf and if my memory is correct, doesn't drive. I bumped into his mate at the Eye and Ear Hosp. in Melb. a couple of years ago and the car is still sitting in a shed. No, he won't sell it. :furious:

I hate it when cars get stolen, Especially nice ones. I am in NSW and although the chances of it being up here arn't great i will still keep an eye out. Good Luck with getting it back... You never know they may just of pinched it for a joy ride it could be parked up somewhere out of fuel. Its a car that will get noticed so it can't be to far away. Sus out your street.

Start checkin ebay for the parts i reckon. If any are close go and check em out. You might recognise your parts (maybe by a small scratch or somethin?)

Good luck finding it mate

It's too easy to rebirth a lj. Done overnight and with a good job and looking different altogether, and down for rego the next morning which could be booked in, before the car was even stolen.

My hatch was stollen a few years ago. A few days before it went missing I had to buy a new window winder mechanism and saw a hatch advertised at a local wreckers. I had a look and it was a good shell. A few days later my car is stolen and I get it back badly damaged. I rang about the shell and it was gone. Funny how the guys who I know full well stole my car bought this shell I thought. Too bad I couldn't prove it as the police took the video evidence. Apparently catching them for car theft wasn't high on the priority list as they wanted to catch them for their drug dealings instead.

sounds a bit fare fetched but last Thursday i was driving through sunbury on my way home from uni (the train broke down so had to be picked up! :furious: ). This was around 5.20PM. i saw what i thought was a yellow 2 door LJ being towed through a roundabout and i didnt really think to much of it until i revisited this post. I believe it wasnt as neat as this one thats been stolen but it was yellow and could defenitily been an LC and not a LJ.

Now you would have to be pretty stupid to be towing a stolen car through Sunbury during a bust time such as 5PM during the week. Could be worth an inquiry perhaps? Because where it was stolen from isnt all that far from Sunbury i dont believe.

Cheers Leigh
