Add an internal metal venetian. Looks a thousand times better than the black thing.

Yes but you see My74LH wants it for some character... You seem persistent to turn your wagon into a Grandaddy Cruiser... ;)

Im only doing what the General wants me to do. Cant argue with the boss.

I love how you've done this car up. It just looks bloody amazing! As for the rear external louvre its definitely something different since everyone else threw theirs out years ago. Maybe you'll start a trend.

Would love to get hold of one myself but i don't trust transport to deliver it in one piece, had one on Tracies car when we got it but it was broken so i binned it, it also rubbed a couple of grooves in the rear windscreen hence i am now looking for a new rear windscreen, i have a contact name and number just gotta get back to him in a couple of months to find out how much.

Thanks mate, I do value everyone’s opinion and it reflects in some of the changes I have made to the build. But at the end of the day I’m building it just the way I like it. I could have gone for a factory resto, it would have cost me lots less this if for sure, but this is the look of Torana I want to drive :)

Good stuff. I agree with your attitude of building it exactly how you want it.

As it is not a original concourse rebuild you would be better off getting the seat belts re webbed with the new style webbing. It is no longer legal to re webb seat belts with the original style of seat belt webbing.

The new style webbing has more give than new old style webbing which reduces injuries from the seatbelt. Old faded webbing will have even less give.

I used kiwi shoe polish the one your mum used to bring up your school shoes with, the bottle with little spunge on the end .
I did tests on some other belts and it works better if you dampen the belt first so the die soaks into the belt , then I dried it with a heat gun They look great :)

I thought the same thing , so i tired rubbing a white rag over it about 20 times with lots of pressure ,not a mark . So I moved foward .
I remember the rag when i was washing the belts preping them for the die , It was black after I had finished .So couldnt be any worse than that .

Hahahaha, ok! Cool! Might just give that a try! Was it a particular brand of polish? Or is Kiwi the brand? I didnt go to a fancy school that made us wear black shoes. They did try to introduce a sock policy however.

Where do you get that sound proofing from? Gonna put new carpet in soon and might be worth sound proofing I reckon.

HI 74 LH SLR, I have been following your build for a while and your doing a great job by the look of it and thanks for posting the build thread, I hate to be a downer but your seat belts are past it sorry mate I had a friend who did what you did after his mate did it and told all how great they were cheap as and looked like new, he died when the seat belt snapped in an accident, my mate went out the next day and threw his refurnished seat belts away. It is just not worth it and in the overall scheme of things your family are worth NEW safety belts aren't they? Sorry to rain on your project but you have done such a great job everywhere else.

Yeah I hear yah, but I just cant find a new set, been looking for a while. My other option is to retrofit a more modern style from a late common-dore .if anyone has a link to a quality belt supplier please post it.
