Good to see this pop up again, it was neck and neck with Brad's LH for 'must see' posts for a while there.

How did you find the Neales Hotwires ? I'm really dissapointed with mine.

Hahahahaha. Yeah I was secretly competing with progress reports!!!! For a while there I couldn't keep up!!! I've got plenty of time on my hands now mate, if I was closer I'd gladly help you get it finished.

Yeah it’s been a while so your way in front now Hahaha, I’m not happy with the my progress. Like I said I’m keen to finish this Ducati so I can get back on track with the Torana.

I like the Neales wheels they were great .took him a while to get them to me though.

I’d gladly accept your help brad seeing your build quality, your SLR looks amazing if I had the cash I’d be all over your SLR .

I'm curious to know what you found wrong with them.

Casting flashes between the spokes not removed, weld spatter on the rim, what looked like a split in the rim rewelded, paint chipped between the spokes.

If it was a second ham rim, or a cheapy rim i would accpet it, but at a grand a corner ???

I'll post pics shortly.

Have you complained to them or try to get a replacement?

Hey guys, its bin a while since my last post.

The SLR has been at a standstill since last year, it was meant to be finished by Christmas last year but a sudden family holiday to Italy got in the way.

Since then I have taken on another 2 resto projects a 74 Ducati 750GT and a 84 Ducati Mike Hailwood add to that work and two growing boys that have developed a taste for fishing,  I’m busier than a one legged man in a butt kicking contest , So the Torana is just sitting there .

It’s almost finished; I have all the parts needed to finish it. What’s remaining is the fuel tank and lines, drive shaft , exhaust and some small electrics, then fit the 2 front seats and it’s finished.

I hope to get on to it by the end of the year fingers crossed , I just want to finish the GT 750,  just waiting on the motor and wheels , paint is done and I have all the parts to finish it .

So lets wait and see what happens in the following months .

Hey mate, that's an interesting pair of Ducks to rebuild. Those 750's are the Pantahs? There is a mean SOB 750 getting around town here, Black and Gold, it sounds tough as nails but has a severe miss between 5k and 7k RPM.

Any pics of those bad boys.  The MHR are nice period motorcycles.

I think the hand over to your son isn't due for another year? In any case he should be made to wait and that way he'll appreciate it. Maybe stick some L plates on it and he can clock some hours up in class.

It’s been a long project but I wasn’t in any hurry as I had a few other projects on the boil . Had a mate on my case pretty much every week giving me an ear bashing to get it done before I started my next project. Haven’t been out much during the day probably go to Harry’s at Liverpool tonight . My son is a keen as mustard to take over the custodianship of it but he can wait until I’m dead first 🤣.
