Hey ! The car is looking fanbloodytastic mate... As far as the dash is concerned if you go the silver way its the LX scheem as the LH SLR 5000 had the all black with the silver outlining around the dash ect ect.

I thought the dash my be to black but once it was done it looks awesome in the flesh. Either way good luck :)

Check the clearance between the shock and the rear disc caliper, on most conversions the Commodore rear disc caliper can not be mounted behind the axle. You need at least 10 mm clearance to allow for pad wear.

Yeah we have that sorted , the other issue is you can't fit the shock after the axles rotors and calipers are fitted , the shocks need to be fitted first .
I see in your pic you have a bolt which holds the schock eliminating this problem.

That is not my setup. The bolt does make it easier but as you can see in the above picture the caliper will still hit the shocks when you apply the brakes.

Some people swap the plates left to right which mounts the caliper in front of the axle. This solves the clearance problem but then the caliper is in the way of the handbrake cable. The handbrake cable bracket can be modified to work.

Some people move the shock further inboard.

I originally just made my diff wider to accommodate the Commodore caliper. I have since had a change of plans with the shocks so I am modifying the backing plates to mount the caliper in the 10 o'clock position.

The other advantage to modifying the mount as per the pic with the black damper above is that you can use HQ length ones, gives a few more options including Bilsteins which seem to be hard to get in Torana lengths

I love every aspect of your car apart from one. The square front headlights. I know you have debated it elsewhere but it just looks wrong to me.
Owning 3 LH's I don't mind the look but once the flares are put on, this means round headlights have to be added to the mix.
It will be a serious missile once completed.

So today the first stage of the interior was finished, after much thought I finally went with the trimmed door tops ,I must say they look great .Also trimmed the screen pillars “thanks Hanra for the heads up” Also picked up the diff .
The shocks look like they have allot of clearance with the new pads ,but just to make sure I removed the pad and pushed the caliper hard up against the rotor , they just touch so if you take into account the thickness of the pad backing plate it has at least 6mm of clearance as am minimum .
