Which is one of the reasons i'm unhappy about that idea.
Yes MRNOS, money spent on wheels and brakes.
I'll recoup most of the money selling the Simmons, they are still ok for most brakes, not the big race stuff we are using.

I'm considering getting dragways to do some custom stuff, but now the problem is blown out with a lack of time.

15x10 Challenger didn't fit either
Nor did the 15x10 Hotwire

Keep trying boys

As for everyone except Welby ... who doesn't like spacers and wants HQ pattern.
Have a look at some spacers and Commodore offset rims Rory
That may be your answer

Just to clarify, are you looking to go to 15 X 10 or 8 with the simmons?

Yeah you're in a bit of a pickle....

Prob the cheapest option would be to change the calipers, but either way if you want to run the simmons, you are going to have to source a set of 4 inner/outer rims that will suit, which will be hard to find s/h so you will prob have to buy them from retro.. and by the time you have done that it will be as much (almost) as buying a complete new set...

The other option is speaking to a chap that Red put me in touch with, his name is Craig and he is remaking the jongblood wheels for the group c guys, not cheap but he will be able to do the correct offsets for your application, if you're gonna spend the money at least get the right period wheel!

let me know if you want his details.

Too rich for me Sam..I will go Challengers at a pinch. I am flicking the Wilwoods and going back to PBRs..if they are good enough for the Group C guys they will do NOS and I.

Those ones are HQ cast iron
They are strong and don't flex much
You can also buy decent pads for them

Girlocks are alloy, flex more , and no decent pads

Bugger. I should have got pictures of Waynes new brake setup on his race car as it may have been handy for this thread.
Wayne bought a heap of NASCAR brake gear from the USA and fitted to the hatch.
Big and better brakes and heaps of weight removed at the same time.
Sam, the test session went well for the new brakes on Waynes. It does have a vibration that wasn't there before so an on car balance will be done before the next meeting and maybe another test day. Dave poped a diff 3rd time out so he had a drive of Waynes and then took the VE family car out for some laps. We've been talking of changing the diff for a while, now it's a must. Bloody Volvo diffs.

Simmons on Waynes Hatch with the new brakes no problems. They are only 15x8's thou

I ve got 15x10 and 15x8 challengers from dean, they were about $240 ea last year, I dont know if Im repeating anything on here because I havent read the last 6 pages because Im dial up but, I have had problems with the offset on the 15x10s, they are equal 5in 5 out and they rub on the flares with 255/55x15 tyres, the 15x8 fronts clear my 4 piston calipers, but I only use these wheels to trailer it around so the slicks dont get wrecked, if anyone in Bris wants to try them to see if they fit let me know. the 16x10 simmons have equal offsets also and I have to space them out 6mm to stop them rubbing on the inside, I think the challengers have a thicker centre than the simmons which make them hang out further. A 14x8 hotwire clears the front calipers, but a 15x9.5 simmon wont without a 10mm spacer, because it hits the nuts on the back of the centre.

Talk to NOS about this today..I have B45 Simmons centres..Not sure if they are HQ or Commodore..What I was wondering, as they are fitted with tapered nuts..If you drilled them out to take the long shank mag wheel nuts with the collars this would make them definate HQ pattern...?..Anyone done this?? Anyone got a problem with it???
