Have converted the old Sunbird to a blue 202 and ossie 4spd.
Now whats the deal wit the console, how do ya bolt up a shifter boot to it, and wont the shifter be like short as, sticking outa the top as the consoles quite high.
was there a manual console made for it (sorry if thats a dumb Q), doubt it.

The manual shifter insert holds the boot which is attached to the underside of the insert. The length of the shifters does vary so perhaps you eed one with a longer shaft?

I think the Sunbird had a different insert to the 6 and 8 cyl consoles. Gearstick in slightly different location. If this is the case you may have to chase up a different insert.

Can anyone show me a picture of this insert or tell me where to get one and a boot from? Also how much are they.

That's a picture of an as far as I know LX SL/R 5000 interior with the manual shifter boot.

AAhhh thanks Heath that helps.
My console is much different.
It is bigger, higher and wraps around the air vents under the dash.
Hmmm, the same goes for the spare i have out of the LX 6cyl.
May have to rig something up myself then.
Thanks guys, any more help much appreciated.
M.
