After discussing it a bit with Matt, we realised that there may be some complications with printing on the collar (as we all know, it's a very different material made to stretch more etc). If they even do it, it may not look good or last well. Whether embroidery on that fabric would look good after a lot of sunlight, constant stretching etc could be an issue. I'm not saying it's not an awesome shirt, it's probably my favourite but I'm not sure whether it would be cheap or last well...

Anyone elses opinion?

Didn't bother me in the least, I voted for the plain collar anyway.

Time for less talk and more action lol

Thats a good point heath, though i have seen alot of collars printed recently. I belive they can actually pre-print the collars of teh shirts before theyre made to give the collars the style needed.

I agree and if that option is too expensive, I'd still buy one witht eh sleeve done or even the no badge option!

mmm it's a hard choice, and that's confirmed by the fact that they each have two votes :P

PS It was just as much Matt's opinion Tiny, lol.

Thats cool mate! It is a good opinion and you guys MAY be right! ( i hope not hehehe)

See how it pans out... we could at least take these images to an embroiderer/screen printer and ask THEM if were dreaming or what!

Some of you mentioned wording on collars...

https://cache.gmh-to...b103/LXChev350/

the first 2 shirts you see are my old work shirts and the 3rd is my Mustang shirt. In both cases the wording on the collars is done when the collar is made...its part of the original weave. Where as the stuff on the chest (both shirts) is embroidered. I think my work shirt is daggy (collar) but my mustang one isnt too bad. Both have been worn heaps.
BUT I still prefer torana design no 1, the one with the words on both sleeves (not on the collar).

Another side issue, my first NSW race meeting will be in 2 months (Wakefield Park), I would like to put the gmh-torana.com logo somewhere on my car, I think the best places would be on the drop tank and across the front somewhere.
I am not sure yet if this years series will be on SBS/Foxsports again so I cant guarantee much exposure. But of course it turns heads when on the Trailer to and from events.

Great Idea got my support,
Just so you know the collars are knitted and the print (both colours and text/symbols) is knitted in, printed collars just dont work, fancy collars not worth the hassle or cost in my opinion.
Embroidery on shirts looks good if done right but these day's printing is just as good and a bit cheaper.
Judging by the responses it will raise some good funds for the site but I think all will agree that you should take your share from the profit to cover your time and out lay. Good Job :spoton:

Backs should be left bare by the looks of what weve decided.

I prefer bare back myself ;)

Knoath: I think i'd like to leave it open another day or so ( maybe over the weekend).. but whichever shirt it coming last ( I'm surprised the 3rd option has so few votes!!) i'll remove and add the options of plan back and printed back with one only design...

Best be getting the back design sorted otherwise we'll never choose!

I think that next week we could approach the suppliers that we know for prices and reccomendations on collar problems/costs and options in their professional opinions.

Cheers for the efforts.

P.S what about embroidering gmh-torna.com BACKWARD on the collar like sydney westfield security guards have? So when the collar is fitted correctly you see the website around the back of the neck?

Just another spanner to throw into the works!! LOL...

I dunno 'bout the reverse design on the collar.... I just reckon below the collar would be easy to read... what if the collar isn't sitting right? You know what I mean?
I agree, let's get the design sorted... would love to see everyone wearing these at the Drag Day!!
I personally think we should have the web address on the back...just something small and unabtrusive, yet easy to read. If we're gunna advertise the site, lets make sure people see it from all angles! I'd use the same font as 253toranaSS has chosen, it's perfect.

Not much going on here....doesn't anyone else want a say about these shirts? Only 37 votes taken... spread the word around people, I'd say this will be a one off run of these shirts so get in early.
Poll to close Monday... then off to get quotes.
Start taking orders for size and quantity after Australia Day weekend, or there abouts.

Just a thought. Orders may depend on what is printed on the shirts or more importantly what is not :)

I made my feelings clear, the plainer the better (my thoughts only) I for one do not like the XU1 SL/R etc as it does not cover all models of Torana and I dont want to promote/wear something that clearly leaves a class of vehicle out.

Of course I am only one vote of maybe a few hundred.

Cheers
Herne
