Gday,

Well I want to keep the chrome strip around my windows. However on one of my spare rust free doors that I plan on using, it doesn't have these little pins in it for the strip to sit on. Is it possible to have the chrome without using these pins. Or will I have to make up some new ones and weld them in?

Cheers

you can drill a hole and pop rivet the retainer clip in place.

You can actually buy rivets that have the 'correct head' for the plastic moulding clip to fit onto.

Hope this helps.

^ Uhhh... they're part of the metal. The way you get them off is with an angle grinder. If you put them on a door that never had them previously, they will end up being entirely different to the factory chrome stripped LX's.

Sorry who offered me a screw? :P

MediuM16A2

I just got a screw driver behind them and eve so gently popped them off. Not realising what sort of clip held them on. Now those clips are #@$^%& and I need new ones.

I still have a few doors to go so I will do them and find out the best way and let you know.

the little plastic clips you can buy from rare spares for (from memory ) 12c each. one of the doors on my torana is off a lj whereas the rest are lc, the lj one didnt have the little rivet things. so i just put 1/8" pop rivets through the little plastic clips and wala.
