Spent 2 hours today at the Holden Wreckers..pulling wheels..wire brushing stub axles..generally getting filthy!
This is what I found...
4 x HZ one tonner chassis
4 x HX one tonners chassis
2 x WB one tonners chassis.
1 X HQ one tonners chassis..
All had 9943693 and 9943694 front stub axles with the exception of the HQ which had 0996 on the drivers side..a cast GMH NF "25" not "5" and BH at the top and FK at the bottom. None had HD stamped on them. Stampings were BH, FD, KD. None had 9943695 or 96 fitted. The cast numbers are quite clear using the last 4 numbers i.e. 3693/3694.
Now I am guessing..even though the parts books dont agree..that from HX on they might have made all stub Heavy Duty....The HQ ones are obviously thinner by the eye.
Comments?..
