Once again, i can't thank Datto enough.

He put up with us all weekend at all hours, and has been a tireless assistant in the build from early on.

Thanks mate.

Now if all that are reading this will simply give Datto a call when you next buy some pads, everyone will be happy.

Go on, ring.

You know you want too.

Welby

Theres a 16mm spacer on the front to fit the wheel just for a look

I'm knackered too mate
But we still have to finish it in the next week or its all for naught
So I'll be at your place tonight after knock off to do some more
I'll bring the dipstick and tube and diff parts

Coffee and Mars bars will perk the team up

Well after a satisfying weekend of grunt work, my tired old hands are KILLING ME!
This office job has knocked the match fitness out of me.

Datto, U ROCK! your hoist is my new best freind. Although we had it fairly low at some points with large people still under it. Glad we put the diff in last......

Now it is back into the house of hotwires for some more floor work.
So far I think we should be really proud of the build but now the hard physical work is done, the hard technical work is to be finalised. as I always say, the devil is in the details, so lets breath some life into the girl......

Cheers
BJ

Years ago, I saw (actually, we heard it before we saw it) a recently rebuilt Torrie arrive from the horizon, and rumble into the car park we were waiting in. It looked and sounded so damn fantastic, it instantly earned the nickname "Viagra".

Welby, I think you're building "Viagra II". :spoton:

PS - is that front end set up UC spec, ie are you using the UC location for the top arm mounts, and not the A9X location?

Looks like you found a genuine A9X diff too - Mmmmmm.

The top arms are in the STD UC position at the moment but when the wheel align is done a few holes and its changed
Depends what the man can do when its on the aligner
Its got abit of neg now (no spacers) and plenty of toe (poor aligning on my part with the tierods

These things we will leave to the pro's in their field

hey guys fantastic stuff :spoton: this car is certainly porn on wheels! just a couple of questions. I have spoken to john wilson re A9X flair kit and he wasnt to clear on whether flairs were the wide A9X style or L34. Can you help clarify? Whats the quality like? They look good in thread. Also Datto im running 15" Pontiac rims on my hatch would a rotor/caliper set up like Welbys fit with these rims? $$?
Sorry for twenty questions but im just so inspired by you guys that its all go on my hatch at the moment!!!!!!! Once again hats of to all involved.

L34 flares are for sedans, and the rears are narrower. I'm pretty sure the front flares are the same, but the bolt holes are in different places.

The flares were top quality
And they seem to be wide enoughto fit those 15x10 hotwires on the back with a 285/45/15 tyre no dramas and some room to spare

We have to order more flares for other Perth people yet
On order so far
Hatch x 3 (Dave,Dan,Welby spares)
Sedan x 1 (for me cause mine got sold twice since recieving them...lol)

I have a diagram of the brakes with measurements for wheel clearance
We should also have a "new" Simmons wheel which clears by Tuesday 14th (hope so car booked in for tyres and wheel align Wed - car hits track Thur) so we'll be able to provide info then
They would possibly fit your Pontiac wheels as they don't have all the stupid bolts the Simmons do
I removed half the bolts out of a wheel and it cleared no dramas. But careful measurement to be sure before spending money first

Sorry Jayson, i mis understood.

Yes you are right, there is a cold air box in the background of a couple of pics. I purchased it through a mate of REDA9X, and i would suggest you drop him a line for costs.

The box will be fitted when we have time to mess around and get it sorted correctly.

Well spotted !!

In those pics are a stout engine
And a stouter mechanic
And you pic the obscure alloy thing in the corner to comment on ???

The airbox will go on when we get a few other things sorted
Supplied by a member here who makes/or has them made for people
The carb has to come off to do it and we don't have a filter to suit the box yet (probably my next task) so once we have filter... we'll install box
