Common last question is what are we doing now?
We have a couple of issues to sort, i used a Rare Spares cotter pin on the steering column uni and it's shot already. We actually used 2 but during the assemby, we threaded one straight away and replaced it with the best of a handful of spares i have. I thought it was an error on our part but after seeing this one i'm now not sure.
See wanted add.
Another hiccup is we have a driveline vibration in high RPM 4th and all of fifth. Haven't found the cause yet.
Maybe linked, maybe not is the speedo peaks out at 100 kph. as you go faster it goes up 10 k's and drops back to 100, then up, drop etc.
I need to repair the paint damage and the painter is on notice to make a gap(please)
The engine has a couple of minor oil leaks, more weepages really.
Lastly, i need to find a carby guru to massage out a flat spot.
We are probably going to miss Classic Adelaide and hit Bathurst in mid December instead.
Ongoing over the next couple of months is suspension fiddling and minor ergonomic changes to bits and bobs.
Otherwise, love my car !!

If the cause of the vibration is the diff pinion angle I can lend you some adjustable trailing arms to try.
I may be worth talking to WA Diff Centre, I expect that they have the appropriate equipment to measure the gearbox and diff pinion angles.

That's Phil yes?? Datto & Dave have already suggested him and it's on the to do list
I am already running adjustable arms and we are working through the list of possible reasons.

Phil owns Final Drive and is highly recommended for diff housing and tailshaft fabrication. That's Phil yes?? Datto & Dave have already suggested him and it's on the to do list

WA Diff Centre build diff centres and will fit housing's made by Phil. I suspect they would be better setup to trace a vibration.

Steering sorted with the replacement of the Rare Spares cotter pins with some genuine Holden pins.
Vibration issues look to be in hand. WA Diffs had a look at the undercarriage today and he called Phil in from Final Drive for a second opinion.
Consensus was the gearbox is angled down at the rear a little to far and the diff points down a tad too.
We started with lifting the nose of the diff by 1.5 degrees. Car feels better already so we will give the gearbox a shim as well.
Car is due to lose most of its signwriting this weekend.
Picked up my new Michelin TB15 rears today, they are very soft in the sidewall compared to everything else i have.
Pics soon.

I was thinking that... Mal Wood (Tremec) mentioned that to me when I bought my gearbox about alignment... My VR (Live Axle) Commo has that similar problem on take off - inbuilt fault.

Its amazing... my Race LX only gets out for 3 days every 6 weeks and someone always remarks to me that they saw it out and about... so its hard to go under cover with a highly visible car.

If you dont mind me asking do you deal with their cranes in australia??
do you buy/ distribute any other of their products??
Just curious as they are a bit of a competitor in some of the place i works markets, (ie heavy fork lift trucks)
love the Ftruck too. they are a monster of a car, never forget the first time one pulled up next to our Bronco (which wasnt small) it made it look a bit puny!

Most signwriting is coming off, especially the event signage. Sponsor commitments have ended.
Hercules and Race Brakes stay on, and we will put a number in place of the Targa number. Co driver name will come off as he is organising his own drive for next year.
I agree with lxchev366 's comments.
The car is road driven occasionally and it is now well known in the area.
Liebherr have been a sponsor for 2 years. Hercules uses Liebherr cranes in its operations and we work closely together. Wish we could get more machines though, world shortage and all!
Hercules provides lifting services and is not a sales and hire company.
The F truck is one of 4 we have with another on order and if we could find a 650 in country we would buy one of them too.
They are great marketing / promotional vehicles as well as great out in the sticks

The market round here has just gone crazy of late, everything is taking off we cant build enough of our own brand Heavy lift trucks (16-54tonne lift capacity) to meet demand. its crazy.

No wet use yet.
I will be happy to throw some more info up as soon as i've had a chance to get some decent k's on them.
Can say i'm pleased so far.
While we are at it, can't bag the Michelin Pilots enough. I know all the Prsche guys luv 'em and i know Steve Coad ran them on a couple of Targa's on the big HQ but i've had no fun with them at all.
They aquaplane at the thought of a wet road, they take for ever to warm up and the don't give much feed back through the wheel or the bum.
They are now doing duty as 'donuts' on the family commodore.
