Murray Bridge Autofest 2008.
South Australians should be proud that their Goverment are sponsoring the Murray Bridge Autofest 2008
This has got to be Great news for all car enthuists as it does show that some Goverments do see the benifits that we all bring to their regions.Springnats in Victoria is also sponsored by the Victorian Goverment. As in any sponsorship these partnerships are an important part on the makeup of any event and a must at keeping prices to the Entrant and Spectator to a minimun.
We all under stand that as costs of hire, insurance, employment etc etc continue to increase we need to continue to attract corporate sponsorship to help keep costs to you as low as possible as well as also lifting the profile of our sport/hobby.
The Rural City of Murray Bridge is continuing its strong suport and have already finding ways on how the Supercruise could be extended as well as increased public parking areas.
ALSO you can Enter the Show and Shine ONLY for $100.00 and this also pays for TWO people and an Event T-Shirt But cannot be apart of any driving events apart from the Supercruise.

Murray Bridge Autofest and the Murray Bridge Beach Party Race Day both welcome the inclusion of the Murray Bridge Speedway into the calendar of events planned for this coming Australia Day weekend.
As a group it is planned to promote Murray Bridge with the All Roads Lead To Murray Bridge brand and this will be promoted via local media, national motoring publications, interstate Television as well as SA television and radio.
It foreseen that the Australia Day weekend will be one of the largest on the Murraylands calendar of Events with visitors traveling from most parts of Australia to witness what will be on offer.
The weekend will kick off with the Murray Bridge Racing Clubs Australia Day Beach Party from 12 noon you will be able to get into the trackside atmosphere. Enjoy an ice cold beer or Daiquiri at the Beach Bar, grab some prawns off the BBQ, with a side dressing of swimwear parades, live music and lots of fun things for the kids. Murray Bridge racecourse may be 50km from the beach, but thats not stopping the club from putting on what could be the biggest beach party of the year! The race day is a celebration of our great Aussie lifestyle, and what better way to celebrate than having a race meeting at the beach.
Therell be an eight race program with the feature event being the $20,000 Australia Day Cup It will be a fantastic place to be on Australia Day, and its an easy 45-minute drive down the freeway from Adelaide. Marquee and Hospitality Packages can be arranged at the club.
Then its off to Sturt reserve for the Murray Bridge Autofest, now in its second year this action packed three day event will be the largest modified car event in SA with over 16000 spectators in its first year that came to witness the car on display as well as seeing driving events such as the Go To Whoa, Dyno Challenge, Motokana and of coarse the Mighty Burnout Competition it is expected that this will rise to over 20000 in 2008.
Now if thats not enough Saturday Night, its off to the Riverview Speedway for their night of non stop action. With action on the track from V8 Super Sedans and 360 Sprintcars. Also the production car based street stocks, V8 Trucks and also featuring the Riverview Sidecar Spectacular will see the night out with guaranteed action on and off the track. With a full programme tailored to compliment the horsepower weekend. Gates open at 5:30pm with track action from 7pm.
As a lead up to the Australia Day Weekend in Murray Bridge the Riverview Speedway will be running a Burnout Night on the 17th of November and winners of each category that have cars with current SA registration and that enter the Murray Bridge Autofest will automatically go through to the finals and will not have to qualify on the Saturday in January.

MEDIA RELEASE
18th January, 2008
BRETT THE BOSS STEVENS TO VISIT SOUTH AUSTRALIA
The rural township of Murray Bridge in South Australia will again be transformed into a car lovers paradise when the 2nd annual Murray Bridge Autofest roars into action on the Australia Day long weekend (January 26-28).
Headlining the octane fuelled event is Australian Drag Racing champ Brett The Boss Stevens from the Jack Daniels Racing team, who will be firing up the crowds with a smoking driving display on the burnout pad in his infamous 2,500 horsepower Burnout Ute.
Last year when I came down to Murray Bridge for the Autofest I received a great reception from the local motoring fans and I am really happy to back again in 2008, Stevens said.
Everyone really seems to get behind the event to make it a success and it is something South Australia can be really proud of with a variety of great activities and displays for both the crowds and entrants.
I will be focusing on the burnout pad though where I am planning on going through a few sets of slicks and a coupe of hundred litres of methanol giving people a show they wont be forgetting in a hurry.
There will be plenty of burning rubber, noise, smoke and most importantly everyone will be having a good time.
As well as heating up the action on the burnout pad, Stevens will also have his 3000 horsepower Jack Daniels Racing and SP Racing Ford Falcon Top Doorslammer race cars on display for fans.
Stevens is one of Australias leading Drag Racers and is the only person in the world to compete in three professional Group 1 Drag Racing brackets simultaneously (Top Doorslammer, Top Bike and Top Alcohol).
Some of his recent Drag Racing accomplishments include winning the 2004 Australian Top Doorslammer and the 2005 Australian Top Bike Championships, member of the Australian Motorcycle Hall of Fame, holder of the quickest Australian Harley record with quarter mile run of 6.4 seconds, as well as various other records and titles.
The Murray Bridge Autofest is one of the largest automotive driving shows in South Australia and will feature a variety of motoring entertainment including burnouts, motorkhana, go-to-whoa, show and shine, dyno competition plus lots more.
