I reckon mine has got a 12 in it, the converter is holding it back but that will be sorted in a few weeks.

he had crane 286, l34 heads with a bit of portin and some shaping in the return radius to cause a swirl effect, flat tops, torker manifold and a 650 holley..
i whent a similar combo only i used a killa set of heads and i went for a 288 solid with a 4800 stall and it ran 11.1 124 mph
in an lh that was a fun cruiser aswell i tell ya!!!

or a lighter right foot maybe?my stocko 308 in lc ran 14.7 with 2.78 diff gears and 50m of wheelspin, i reckon it sat on the line for whole second spinning!

The problem...as I know....in the LC is wheelspin because of the light weight...as A1 has indicated. I am looking forward to the L34 replica with my combo on slicks...that should hook up nicely...rory i have a 288 comming but the bottle will come first as the 288 will not pass engineers and when its in it should go 11.5 all day with the right gears

400hp heads red 308 pollution flowed by Graeme Sic..Total performance
1.6 harley rollers
286 crane anti hydraulic , stock crank, grpA vl rods, forged flat top pistons, standard GMH oil pump shimed.dual plane vc pollution manifold, 750 DP holley, Ice ignition.10.5 to 1 comp Engine build/tuned Matt W.Holley Performance
First time ran it 13.9 102mph single wheelie 3.36, 2200 stall VB SLE commodore, with Roch carby , crossing line in 2nd gear at 6000rpm, this was without using stall conv since it just fired the tyres.
After putting 4.11 and 750 DP holley , ran 12.8 ( cant remeber mph), and it still had a little more in it.
Mind you all this was run in about 1994 and on super fuel. Mind you with vn heads, etc you could run some serious times these days.
Oh and this combo was my daily driven car for about 20000kms and didnt miss a beat, and passed all epa rules .)
But if Micklx did check the heads passover has been welded in , for the pollution.
