was staring at the torana today and made the big decision to fully re-wire the whole car.

will be doing away with the ignition lock and barrel and will add a custom overhead switch panel for fans, fuel pumps, ignition, and start button. :)

one question though how did you run the wiring

wiring runs from under the dash through the inside of the A pillar, then across to the switchpanel. i used the original interior light mount as a mount for the panel

lot neater than it was before. still a bit to do. all un-necessary circuits were removed such as the heater and stereo.

wirings done. everything works now. 36 years worth of corrosion on the factory wiring harness plugs was the reason fr things not working. plus the flasher can was pretty much gone. think it was the original one still! GMH stamped on it haha.

ok the pic is small and a bit shite but its hard to draw on microsoft paint and have some JD's at the same time, but this is what my custom alloy grille will look like. basicaly same as LJ but instead of going in it will follow the shape of the front end, which means i will have room to put the radiator in front of the radiator support panel and gain a few inches in front of the crank to fit the 3 inch wide bottom blower pulley plus the fat romac steel balancer

I like the idea of the overhead switch panel. I had an image of something a bit more slim and streamlined compared to the final product. Good workman ship and I admire anyone that can rewire the whole car themselves :spoton: somethime I'm hesitant to touch.
Not trying to poo poo the great work but the will the overhead box make you a target by mr plod? (the old incase of an accident bullshite).

thanks guys. with any luck my new blower manifold, snout, pulleys and belt will arrive before the weekend so i can get stuck into making things fit that currently wont lol
this is the kit :) best part is it uses the 3 inch wide belt instead of the 2 inch that all the others use :)

That is tough as nails. Still run the original thermostat? Where does the top hose go?
